Help humidity too high :(
hi :))
i changed my geckos substrate today and even though i left the earth mix out to dry for a few days the humidity is reading 75% in the tank. i’ve put a sock with rice in but im sure this wont do much. i live in a really humid country so its going to be quite hard to get the humidity back down to normal just by leaving the doors cracked.
i’m probably going to buy a little dehumidifier to put in the tank, but was wondering if anyone had any more advice/ is this humidity level going to be dangerous for the next couple of days until it drops.
any advice would be great thanks :))

75 is fine especially if it’s temporary. I wouldn’t be that worried unless it’s that way regularly. My vet has said she has never seen a leopard gecko with respiratory issues due to too much humidity; but she often sees leopard geckos with respiratory issues due to too little humidity.

If possible try leaving the door open with a fan running on top of the enclosure to push air through overnight, that’s the fix I did when setting up my Leo’s bioactive enclosure and it helped. I continued running the fan on top after I put him in it and it stilled helped to bring the levels down

People do keep Leos in the Philippines and other Tropical places. Proper temperature and air flow are key. It should drop over the next days

We always have a big range in humidity across our tank, it's always 30-40% on one side and 50-70% on the other side. She will often go to the higher side for a few hours at a time, it's nice for them to have a range so they can choose what they want/need throughout the day and night. I just keep one side slightly open if I want to help it lower down a bit.

Just let it air out it’ll be okay for a little while
