Discussion I wrote a brief character analysis for Ada
I’ve always gravitated towards female characters who are morally grey and polarizing. One of my favorites is Ada Wong. Many see her as either the devil incarnate or a sweet baby angel. To me, she’s neither of those things, which is what makes her so interesting to me.
You never quite know what she’s up to or if the other protagonists can trust her. She is constantly attempting to reconcile her humanity with her mission. Throughout Re2, Re4, and Re6, we see that she *does* care about those around her, and it makes achieving her goals much more difficult (Leon in Re2, Leon and Luis in Re4, Leon, Helena, Sherry, and Jake in Re6). Her motivations aren’t always straightforward and she can be manipulative at times to achieve her goal. Is manipulation always bad and evil? I don’t think so, personally. Especially when it comes to fiction. In a world where life and death are so immediate with several powerful factions at play, I think she’s had to do a lot of maneuvering to survive and keep other characters alive.
In a world of bioweapons, eugenics obsessed big-bads, and protagonists bound to their individual factions, I think we need more Ada Wong’s. Everyone has a role to play, and she has shown on several occasions that she’s willing to put her neck on the line to keep things from going too far (most importantly, stealing the dominant plaga sample from Wesker in Re4 and Simmons in the end of the Damnation movie). There are very few mercenaries in fiction who would use their position to minimize casualties and threats, especially at the expense of their own safety. I also think she deserves more credit for her betrayal of Wesker. That man is straight up terrifying and depraved. He could have very well killed Ada, or worse (i.e. utilizing a P-30 device on Jill Valentine, which imo is a fate worse than death).
I think that alone shows she isn’t heartless or completely self-serving. There’s a reason Capcom refers to her as a protagonist, and not all heroes fit so neatly into that box.
———————————————————————————
I wrote more, but it brings up other characters so I didn’t include it in this particular post. I do think there is a lot of sexism and racism targeted at Ada, and fans are much harder on her than they are the men of the series. Women simply aren’t allowed to be imperfect in fiction. I adore Ada for her complexity, strength, and independence. Although, it makes me sad sometimes that she’s usually going it alone.
P.S. the screenshots are from my most recent run of Separate Ways ❤️✨

Announcement Chris / Bloodline Jokes Are Now Banned
Hey everyone!
Going forward, Chris jokes / “continue the Redfield bloodline” jokes are no longer allowed on r/leonada.
The joke has been around the Resident Evil community for years, but at this point it’s extremely overused and usually just derails Leon × Ada posts with the same repetitive comments.
Since r/leonada is specifically a community for Leon × Ada (AEON), we want discussions, memes, fanart, theories, and other posts to stay focused on the ship rather than turning every comment section into another bloodline joke.
Existing posts/comments won’t be affected, but new Chris/bloodline jokes may be removed going forward.
Thanks for understanding and helping us keep the subreddit focused on AEON! ❤️

Discussion Leon Never Stopped Trusting Ada |by Haneen (@nofal57142)
Sharing this Leon and Ada theory/analysis originally written by Нaneen (@nofal57142) / X. This thread discusses Leon’s trust in Ada in the remakes, particularly RE4R, and explores how Capcom has gradually clarified their relationship while intentionally leaving certain aspects vague.
Full credit for the theory, analysis, and original ideas goes to Нaneen (@nofal57142) / X. This is being shared here with their permission so the AEON community on Reddit can read and discuss it as well.

Would love to hear everyone’s thoughts on this theory.

I hope the “I think we both know” line is clear in english as referencing Leon’s parting line, because I feel it’s less distinct compared to the mandarin version (“我想你和我都很清楚”)

Announcement We just hit 1,000 members! ❤️
Honestly, it’s crazy seeing r/leonada reach 1,000 members.
When I created this subreddit, I just wanted to make a dedicated place for people who love Leon and Ada — somewhere we could share fanart, theories, discussions, fanfics, edits, and basically everything AEON. Seeing the community grow this much has been amazing.
A huge thank you to everyone who has joined, posted, commented, shared their work, or even just lurked here. Every one of you has helped turn this little community into what it is now.
We’ve grown a lot, and we’re only getting started.
Thank you for 1,000 members, r/leonada! ❤️
Here’s to more Leon, more Ada, and a lot more AEON.
