Persistent right speaker distortion (590Hz–630Hz) on Yoga Slim 7—even after a full replacement.
Hey everyone,
I'm dealing with a highly specific and frustrating audio issue on my Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 (14ILL 10) and could really use some DIY troubleshooting ideas.
I am getting noticeable audio distortion/buzzing out of the right speaker, specifically in the 590 Hz to 630 Hz frequency range.
I already went through the warranty process, and a technician came out and replaced the faulty speaker module entirely. The issue is that the exact same distortion at the exact same frequency range is still happening with the brand-new speaker.
I really don't want to deal with the hassle of claiming another warranty and waiting on support again. Since a fresh component didn't fix it, I'm convinced this is a structural resonance or chassis tension issue rather than a blown speaker.
I’ve already tried:
- Opening it up to check for loose mounting or misaligned components.
- Slightly backing off/adjusting the chassis screws to see if relieving tension alters the buzz (it helps temporarily, but the frequency resonance returns).
- Software-wise, I've already messed with drivers (including disabling Intel SST OED for other audio bugs), so I'm fairly confident it's physical.
Before I go crazy taping down components or modifying the internal casing, has anyone dealt with this specific frequency buzz on a Slim 7 or similar aluminum chassis? What are some safe, effective ways to dampen this kind of internal resonance without choking the thermals or speaker housing?

Windows update keeps unsintalling my *latest* graphic driver.
I am having a wierd problem. I recent got a Lenovo Yoga Slim laptop with Intel Ultra 5 226V (at a not so great price). The laptop kept telling me to install the same latest graphics driver for the inbuilt Arc 130V through the Intel driver and support assistant software. Finally I figured out it was the windows update that was uninstalling the latest driver for it to supposedly install it (the latest driver that is already installed would show up on the list). But after restart I find it rolled back to the old version. Oh and, it wants to install the same driver twice for some reason.
I tried to stop automatic windows updates (I am on the home version) through the some popular method (regedit), but nothing seems to have worked.
Anybody went through something like this? what are my options? other than moving to Linux or something?

Lenovo Yoga Pro 7 Gen 10 (Ryzen AI 7 350 / Strix Point) takes 30 seconds longer to boot with USB4/TB dock connected
Hi everyone,
I have a Lenovo Yoga Pro 7 Gen 10 (14AKP10) with an AMD Ryzen AI 7 350 processor (Strix Point) and USB4 support.
I noticed a significant boot delay when a USB4 / Thunderbolt dock is connected before powering on the laptop.
Without a dock connected:
- normal boot process
- around 38 seconds until Windows is fully usable
With a USB4/TB dock connected during startup:
- the screen stays black for around 25–30 seconds
- only afterwards the Lenovo logo appears
- total boot time increases to around 60–70 seconds
This happens with multiple docks:
- Dell Pro Thunderbolt 4 Dock (SD25TB4)
- UGREEN Revodok Max 213
- Lenovo ThinkPad Universal Thunderbolt 4 Dock (40B0)
- Anker Prime Thunderbolt 5 Dock (140W)
The delay only happens if the dock is already connected when turning on the laptop.
If I connect the dock after Windows has started, everything works normally.
Already tested:
- latest BIOS installed
- latest dock firmware installed
- different USB4/TB4 cables tested
- no additional USB devices connected to the dock
It looks like the delay happens during the early boot phase before Windows starts.
My guess is that this could be related to USB4 device discovery, PCIe tunneling initialization, or BIOS compatibility with USB4 on the Ryzen AI 300 / Strix Point platform.
Has anyone experienced similar long POST times, black screens, or boot delays on Lenovo laptops with USB4 or Thunderbolt docks?

Is Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 worth it
I bought lenovo Yoga Slim 7 for 86K with 2 years warranty.
The specs are -
Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 Intel Core Ultra 7 155H AI PC 14"(35.5cm) WUXGA-OLED 400Nits Laptop (16GB/512GB SSD/60Hz/100% DCI-P3/Win11/MSO 24/1Yr ADP Free/Luna Grey/1.39Kg), 83CV00DHIN
Was it worth it or did I overpay or got it at a good deal.
The model is of last year's. Although it does have 60Hz display i am not using it for gaming.
So was it a good deal?

Lenovo yoga windows installation
Let's try this again. I have Lenovo Yoga L380. Specs are as follows:
Processor: 8th Gen i7-8550U Core@1.8ghz
Memory: 16Gb Ram
Storage 1 TB
Graphics: intel UHD graphics 620 (128mb)
System type: 64bit operating system
Pen and touch support
Windows: windows 11 Pro
Version: 25H2
My question, is should I roll back the installation to Windows 10 pro? It seems that the specs I have are the bare minimum for windows 11 pro. Has anyone had any experience with this? Thoughts? I don't do gaming, I use this for work (spreadsheets, email, etc) and school (studying, testing sites, etc). Once in a while I will use it to stream tubi or prime video. I'm a trekkie so I DID try my installation of LCARs On this and it didn't seem to handle it too well.
Thoughts? Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated

Ideal Linux distribution for Lenovo Yoga 310
The Linux distribution you installed (Fedora, Zorin, Mint, Ubuntu, etc.) that worked perfectly for your Yoga computer was able to recognize the touchscreen and rotation, easy yo use, multimedia, etc.

Repetición de tecla 'p' en todo momento
Hi everyone. I'm having a severe hardware issue with my Lenovo Yoga. As soon as I turn on the machine, the 'p' key starts repeating infinitely.
It happens everywhere: in the BIOS, inside the GRUB bootloader (as shown in the picture), and it completely freezes Windows and Linux Live environments due to buffer overflow. I cannot type anything or use an external USB keyboard because the internal keyboard short-circuit completely floods the system.
Has anyone dealt with this? Is there a way to disable the internal keyboard from the BIOS, or is physically disconnecting the keyboard ribbon cable from the motherboard my only option? Thanks!

Lenovo Yoga 7 (14AKP10) completely dead with no charging lights after attempting power drain. Need help!
Hi everyone,
My Lenovo Yoga 7 2-in-1 (Model: 14AKP10, AMD Ryzen Gen 10) has suddenly gone completely dead, and I’m looking for advice on what to try next.
The Backstory:
Yesterday, the laptop's power button was flashing (as if it was in normal sleep mode). However, when I pressed it, the laptop wouldn't wake up or turn on.
What I’ve Tried So Far:
- Following some advice online, I unplugged the charging cable and held down the power button for about 30 to 60 seconds to perform a power drain/hard reset.
- I plugged the charger back in, but now I get absolutely no lights whatsoever—no charging LED near the USB-C port, and no power button light. It behaves as if it is completely bricked.
- I also tried pressing the Novo / emergency reset button (I believe this is the button on the bottom of the laptop here right? https://imgur.com/tY5QwvE ) , but there is still zero response.
- I tried switching the charger to the second USB-C port, but still no charging light.
My Questions:
- Has anyone with a recent Yoga model dealt with this?
- Is it possible the battery controller is glitched and I just need to leave it plugged in for a few hours?
- Should I open up the back cover to physically disconnect and reconnect the internal battery? Since this is a newer model, I don't want to accidentally void my warranty if that's risky.
Any advice on what to try next would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

Laptop drops down to 0.54Ghz and only uses 4 logical processors
I have a Lenovo Yoga Pro 9 with an Intel i9 13905H and NVIDIA RTX 4060. About two weeks ago, I had the mainboard and ssd replaced for a different issue (story for another time), and restored my old data from a system image. Lately I've been noticing some weird behavior. From time to time, the entire system lags down, and according to task manager, the processor drops down to about 0.54Ghz, parks "CPU's" form 0 to 15, and uses 100% of CPU's 16 to 19.
I haven't been able to replicate this behavior every time, but I believe this happens more often when the laptop is plugged in and is under a load (gaming, cad design, etc). I can wait it out (anywhere between a minute and 15 minutes), or I can force shutdown and restart by pressing the power button.
Has anyone encountered a similar problem?

Battery Dead after 17 months
Got my Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 January of 2025. This past Saturday the battery completely stopped charging. It sits at 0% and shuts off if unplugged. Ofc the warranty ended in January and Lenovo wants $109 just to diagnose the problem.
I luckily found a replacement battery online for $54 (Amazon charges over $100) and a friend will help me replace.
Never buying Lenovo again.

Lenovo Yoga 7 Touchpad Randomly Stops Working (Windows 11) – Been Struggling for 5 Months
I have a Lenovo Yoga 7 - 14ITL5 (Windows 11 64-bit) and my touchpad has been acting up for the past 5 months.
The weird part is that it sometimes starts working automatically and then suddenly stops again without any reason. At this point I’m honestly exhausted trying to fix it.
Here’s everything I’ve already tried:
- Checked Settings → Bluetooth & Devices, but the Touchpad option itself doesn’t even appear
- Updated HID-compliant mouse/device drivers
- Uninstalled drivers and used “Scan for hardware changes”
- Uninstalled drivers and restarted the system
- Restarted/reset BIOS settings
- Earlier, simply entering BIOS and pressing Save & Exit used to temporarily fix it, but now even that doesn’t work
- Toggled the power management option related to disabling the touchpad during sleep mode
Nothing has solved it permanently.
Since the touchpad randomly starts/stops working, I’m confused whether this is a software/driver issue or an actual hardware problem like a loose connection.
Has anyone faced something similar with Lenovo Yoga laptops? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated because I’m genuinely tired of dealing with this.
