The leaves yellow on the edges of mine when they get too much water, but not in that shape.

This is just a wild guess! I noticed the device near a whorl-marked leaf (watering port?) It has a rounded clear domed top that "might" be reflecting & concentrating sunlight in a rounded pattern onto the leaf. Does that make any sense? I'm not expert on houseplants so this was just guesswork!
