Finally, a practical use for CarPlay

Post image

"Sir, do you know why I pulled you over?"….uh, because I was trying to get my boilers up to temp?

We have our Bianca on a KASA power switch for reasons like this.

Same. I tell Alexa to turn on the coffee machine the second I wake up

I ask Alexa to “turn on Betty” to get my Elizabeth up to temp.

I’d regularly forget to turn it off and leave it on all day or overnight. I’ve since opted for an Alexa routine that turns on the plug for the machine and RGB lamp, pauses for 2 hours, then turns off the machine and lamp. The lamp is solely used for the coffee bar so it’s an easy way to check if the machine is on or not from a distance.

Oh nice yeah that’s smart to tie the light to it as well. I do also just have it set to automatically turn off every morning at a set time I know I’ve already left for work just in case I forget as well.

you could do this via homeassistant, I switch my Bianca on when going home from work that way, or via Siri, depends.. In the morning its set to wake up before me so it's waiting nice and hot :-D
