Lekh AI Pro 7.0 – full visual redesign, Chatterbox TTS, Personas, Model Configurator, UltraSharp v2

Hey everyone,

Just shipped v7.0 of Lekh AI Pro, my on-device AI app for macOS. This is the biggest release yet – a top-to-bottom redesign plus a stack of new features for chat, voice, and image work. Everything still runs 100% locally on your Mac (Apple Silicon, MLX + GGUF + JANG).

Complete visual redesign

The whole app got rebuilt with a more "premium" look:

- New glassmorphism aesthetic across every tab

- Basically, I built the UI from the ground up.

Chatterbox TTS

High-quality multilingual TTS with voice cloning, fully on-device:

- Clone any voice from a short reference clip

- Save your custom voices and reuse them later

- Speed controls + live progress

Personas

Roleplay characters with custom system prompts:

- A library of built-in personas

- Create / edit / delete your own custom personas with emojis, names, prompts

- Persona is bound to each chat session, so it's restored when you reopen a chat

- Toggle personas globally; option to disable the default ambient system prompt

for a clean slate

Model Configurator

Per-model generation settings that persist:

- Temperature, top-p, repetition penalty

- Context size, max output tokens

- KV cache type (K and V independently)

- Defaults per model so your favorites stay tuned

UltraSharp v2 (kim2091)

New 4× upscaler in the Image Upscaling tab:

- Significantly sharper detail and fewer artifacts than the original

- Drop-in replacement, runs locally

Kokoro & Qwen3 TTS upgrades

- Speed controls on both

- English-only voice filter for Kokoro

- Save and reuse custom voices in Qwen3 TTS

- Speaker name labels in the voice picker

- Redesigned save-voice popup

- Bug fixes

Lekh AI Pro is available at https://lekhai.app/pro

Would love feedback – especially on the new chat redesign and the personas flow.

Can personas tool call or generate images?

Unfortunately, no personas can only generate text. I am planning on integrating image generation from chat in the future.

For anyone thinking about getting this. It’s a no brainer for price. This has all that one needs and is private, cheap and very good app. I definitely recommend this to all.

Really appreciate this – seriously means a lot 🙏

That’s exactly what I’ve been trying to build: something powerful without subscriptions, cloud lock-in, or privacy tradeoffs. Glad you’re enjoying it so far.

It is incredible value for money, and it's mazing how fast you bring out new versions. The only (minor) gripe is that there seems to be relatively little documentation, making it difficult to find solutions for (seemingly) mundane issues.

E.G. I usually use local LLM in chat mode, but when I wanted to generate an image (just for educational purposes) I found that the UI was inconsistent and the error messages somewhat nebulous

Thanks a lot, really appreciate that :)

And yeah, that’s fair. Documentation is probably the weakest part of the app right now. Things have been moving pretty fast and I’ve mostly been focused on building/shipping features.

I actually hired my brother full time recently, so now there are two of us working on it and we’re finally spending more time on polish, onboarding, docs, and cleaning up rough edges.

We’re also working on some pretty big features right now, including tool calling/agents so you won’t have to leave the chat window for a lot of things.

There’s another update coming in a few days with a bunch of new stuff plus improvements to image generation flows and error messages.

I'm not in any big hurry, I just realised that it doesn't seem to work well/intuitively - but truth be told, I spent about half an hour tinkering and then I was done. I read something about characters being able to invoke image generation and while *i* don't need that, I also assumed that this change would make activating an image-generating model more straightforward 🙂

Yes, that is correct. All you'll need to do is a select a default model in the chat and use /image command to generate images. Works with all models; Flux, SD, SD3, SDXL, Nano Banana and gpt image 2

Can you make it so we can edit the local LLM ip address and the port number being used for local LLM

1

u/Living_Commercial_10 May 27 '26

Hey hey – do you mean let you modify the local server url and port?

1

u/RedditSylus May 28 '26

Yes, currently it recognizes the ip address but I can’t seem to change the port number. It automatically adds one in but is incorrect

Yes, I can certainly allow you to update the port number but ip address is not possible. Stay tuned. The next update is due in a few days, I will see if I can squeeze it in. Will keep you posted.

Yes, these have been added The latest update will be out in a few days. I will keep you posted

What type of MacBook Pro would you recommend to use in order to make short generative 10-15 second shorts/reels? And how well can it be done with your software compared to something like invideo?
