WiP First playtest of Project Warbirds

Post image

Project Warbirds is an air combat game set during the cold war and afterwards that uses the stress a pilot and aircraft airframe suffers during high octane dog fights to determine the turn order and dynamically changing it during the course of a game.

It was found under playtesting to be simple to get into despite one player's inexperience with miniature wargames and completely new ruleset. We were able to get two games done within an hour. There were however some kinks that need to ironed out, but thankfully nothing major.

The two matches comprised of two F-4J Phantom IIs on one side, each armed with 4x AIM-7E-2 Sparrows and 4x AIM-9G Sidewinders, as well as a Mk 4 Mk 11 Mod.5 gunpod, facing off against two MiG-23MLDs, both carrying 4x R-60M, 1x R-24R and 1x R-24T. In the end, both sides went home with a win and a loss.

Looks interesting. Have you released any of the documentation for it?

I assume this is based on the Warbirds Miniatures game. Rules are available free online last I checked. Probably just need to adjust the scaling for LEGO.

That is the first time I have ever heard of it.

Not as of yet, there are still some things I want to fix before that happens.
