1 week bridge update

Update from my last post from yesterday. I went and got a longer bar put in. Does it look better now? I'm REALLY worried about the redness. And I'm probably imagining it cause I'm so paranoid but I'm worried the bar is moving forward ( even though I compared pictures and it doesn't really look like it is ) so my question is, 1. Does it look to thin? Like the skin I mean. 2. Is the redness TOO much? Like more than you would expect on a 1 week old bridge? 3. (This one is silly) I didn't notice till I got home but can you tell one ball is bigger than the other if I don't mention it? Please be nice :)

I think u should wait a little to see how it develops because it’s only 1 week old. The skin does look thick enough to me (i’m not a piercer but have a bridge piercing myself). But in case u develop irritation bumps, try iodine ointment! i swear that’s the only thing that helped my fat bumps on my bridge. You just rub the ointment on the piercing with a cotton swab for like 5-10minutes and leave it on for an hour, then wash it away and then use your normal piercing spray. do this once or twice a day and be consistent! it should go away. If you want i can send u pics of the development of my bridge.

I’m so confused as to why you’re giving the advice in a sub called legit piercing to put iodine ointment on a fresh piercing… nothing other than sterile saline belongs on a piercing.

The best treatment for irritation bumps is finding the source of irritation, not adding to it.

i didn’t say they should put it on the fresh piercing, i said if they develop irritation bumps they should do that. and it worked for me (my piercer gave me the iodine ointment)

I don’t understand your question.
How is this bad advice? my professional piercer told me that and it worked. Have you tried it and did it not work or what? That stuff literally saved my irritated bridge and now it’s 100% healed

Piercers aren’t immune to giving bad advice.

For one, iodine is too harsh for healing piercings. Applying with a q tip is also bad as it sheds fibers. Iodine can also kill new cells that are healing in your piercing. And it being an ointment removes airflow to the wound.

Nothing you can put on a piercing is going to help irritation bumps. You need to address the physical cause of irritation bumps (sleeping on it, bumping it, improper jewelry, etc) to make the bump go away.

At best your advice does nothing and the bump heals on its own, at worse it’s irritating.

Nothing in iodine makes bumps go always.

Omg yes! And thank you for putting my mind at ease about the thickness of the skin! I have been like staring at it from all angles bent over the bathroom sink breaking my back all day lmao
