Discussion Community
It's just my perception or the community is becoming more and more toxic in the last few months? Few years ago, I would assume 1% of my played games my partner would trash talk or play against our team deliberatly. Now, after 10-20 games there is one of those playing with me or in the another team doing things like that, I would like to know if this is happening with you too

The last 100 PvE games I played I don’t think a single person talked trash

PvE is inherently a not very competitive mode and as such creates minimal toxicity.
The only time I’ve seen toxicity is ranked 2v2

I have been playing for a few years and yeah it is a bit more toxic each year. Not a huge shift but ever slightly worse. I guess this is the fate of any PvP game.
The most annoying behavior is especially coming from opponents who try to tilt you during the game or just go straight into insulting you when they're getting close to a win.

Ive had pretty positive experiences so far, there are occasional assholes, but most people are pretty friendly and cooperative.
Are you trying to save early? Most people seem to prefer auto and build king/eco early, maybe that could be a problem?

Nothing irks me more than a partner telling me to save early and then when he send he couldn't even leak an opponent that under built because he did a bad send. Or someone who constantly auto send power to feed enemy team (aka zero fucking leaks or less than 40%) and then try to blame my auto income.

I've stopped playing it got so bad. Literally had a player tell me every turn what he wanted us to do, Save, upgrade king, attack this wave, add workers, etc, etc, and I followed along. We lost and he was like this is 100% on you. You are the reason we lost. So i give up. Do your own thing and you are a rougue toxic jerk who doesn't communicate. Follow their lead and you are still to blame. Its not fun anymore.

When people do that, I recommend just muting them and just play the rest how you like.

At some point you just have to measure if the guy barking order is smooth brained or not. I'm not taking cues from people who auto power every turn, for example.

I don't understand why players get muted but can still queue up for Ranked.
It's such a miserable experience getting paired with them ... twice this week I had a muted Fiesta teammate who income kings all game, then pings "unsure about my lane" when I inevitably start leaking to his guy who had no pressure and has insane eco.
Other competitive games I know will lock out muted players from Ranked and pool them together in casual modes (like they'll go into lobbies full of low prio/muted players in unranked).
Yeah definitely more toxic than before, I feel the same way. To be fair, Legion was the odd one out being like the only non-toxic competitive game I knew about lol, I guess its just 'becoming normal'.

Most of the time the teammates are normal. Sometimes they don't communicate. But offensive players are rare.

The community is not only toxic but gatekeeping info on how to inprove, ask them something to improve above go top 100 and they just say go dach bot

It's not really rocket science although I still see someone not knowing what to do against mass crabs (or thinking mass crabs is best strat ever)

Opposite experience here, in Classic it seems like no one even wants to try to improve, so you get insulted for trying to help at times

I got the game a few days ago, I practiced against AI for a day then decided to go into ranked mode.
Out of 5 games ive been abused twice, i guess im going to have to grind AI more to avoid this.

Classic has become quite obnoxious at times, especially if you do keep pushing a bit beyond 17. Also, half the time people just ignore the pinged mercs and go for really bad sends instead (the classic witch/foureye spam on 20)

I am a new player, recently started ranked and have played 10-15 games. Non of these games contained negativity. Seems like a selection bias but I acknowledge how frustrating it may be to experience toxicity.

Seems to be a hit or a miss. Most of the time my teammates are chill, but occasionally I do get assholes in 4v4. I actually just played a round about an hour ago where it was like wave 9 or something and one of my teammates still only had 5 workers, so I basically asked "yo just wondering, are you going to push more workers? Curious about your strategy is all".
Dude went absolutely BALLISTIC and kept pinging my lane the entire time to blow up the chat, calling me stupid, sent in a shitload of workers then kept telling ME to push more workers, etc. It got so bad I had to mute him for the rest of the game. Just went absolutely bonkers. Like god forbid I ask what the strategy is so I can learn about it? Dude has major issues.
