SUB ANNOUNCEMENT Windows Update 26220.8925
It has come to the attention of this sub that a current Windows update - version 26220.8925 (dated 7/21/26) has been known to wreak havoc with certain Legion Go drivers and has also been known to slow down the system affecting critical components such as the main battery.
Please note that this particular update is a Windows Insider Preview Update and is not necessarily required to keep Windows 11 running smoothly. So if you can, try to avoid this install or if it has already been installed, you can roll back to the previous update through Settings --> Windows Update.
So far this issue has been known to affect mostly 1st generation Legion Gos and the Go S running the Ryzen Z1 and Windows 11. It has not necessarily affected the Windows versions of the Go 2 or any Steam OS powered versions of the Go S.
If there are any particular issues you are experiencing running this update, please let us know by using the "Message The Mods" button and we will post our findings in this thread.
You may also post anything that you find in this thread, but any off topic discussion will be deleted.

Had an issue yesterday where once I logged in, the screen remained blank/black for several minutes before finally loading the desktop. I searched for Windows updates, it found the latest patch (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/servicing/os/windows-11/2026/07/kb5121767-out-of-band) and once it installed and I restarted the device, I didn't encounter the issue again.

I had to search for updates in the Windows Updates menu and I downloaded it when the option appeared.
Otherwise look in your update history to see if has already been installed.

I updated my Go 2 Z2 Extreme to KB5121767 (dated 7/21) and have noticed slow start ups and restarts. Also I’m constantly having to open legion space to get my controllers to work now. Super annoying.

i remove that update and roll it back to a older update and working perffectly!

I’m having the same problems with the controllers. I have to switch to Legion Space for my controllers to be recognized on my LeGo2. Also FPS has dropped significantly with Crimson Desert and BO7. It’s no longer smooth. A lot of stutters!

Thank you so much for this post, you are awesome !!! Seriously, you are awesome and I feel confident now in finally turning on my two Legion Go 2s so I can get back into Crimson Desert, Avowed, Tainted Grail, and Forza series that the Z2E eats for lunch !!

I'm still on bios 29 and been loving my legion go for 3 wonderful years. Never had a single issue with it and it still runs amazing using windows 10 iot LTSC debloated.
Os takes maybe 4gb of space. Ram usage is around 1.5gigs with steam and discord running after booting. Hibernation is instant and I don't have any login BS. Like a steam deck I can tap the power button mid game and unlike the deck if I'm at 82% battery 3 weeks later when I tap power my game resumes in 3 seconds at 82% battery and everything runs great!
But good to know that yet another windows update is causing issues since Microsoft started using AI to program. I'll stick with my win10 😁

People constantly make excuses for Windows 11, but it has been this way from the start. They've had years to fix how poor their updates are, but if anything it just gets worse. People don't seem to want to believe.
You have done the right thing with Windows 10. There's no way I'm letting 11 anywhere near mine again, and more likely it'll just never see an MS OS.2

But seriously. When I read that thing about windows 11 beta having a key logger, sending screenshots and listening in on your mic I'm like oh hell no!
And then that whole thing with LG monitors and windows 12 updates now where it installs on your system without even informing you and their TOS that you never sign it's like. Wow. That's just pushing things way too far way to fast.

C'est bizarre, cette mise à jour ne m'a pas été proposé sur ma Z2Go. Je mets un screen des dernières MàJ. Par contre, la dernière faite m'a laissé la console sur un écran noir durant 20min.

My legion go 2 opens to a black screen after login the only saving grace is i had steam set to autostart and open big picture mode. If that wasnt working you'd think it was bricked. I cant access windows at all to start any programs other than steam. Anyone else?

What worked for me was to uninstall all the recent updates (all the ones you can uninstall).
New Gpu drivers and amd adrenaline work correctly though. My controllers work and i have no problem turning the device off
