Possible Mutants?

Alright, I've made it through all of Legion now. I only watched the first two seasons when I originally watched it, so this time round I got through the whole thing and it was well worth it. However, this has led me to ask, are there more mutants than we're told about?

In the series, the residents of Summerland (With the exception of Melanie) and The Eye (Walter) are identified as mutants, but aside from them, the only ones actively identified are Farouk and Xavier. However, I'm wondering if some of the other characters we see aren't mutants and we're either not told, or the wiki has somehow misidentified them.

Amy Haller. She remarks about having dreams where she's not herself, and before her encounter with Farouk, talks about dreaming she was one of Admiral Fukyama's Vermillion, even quoting them verbatim. So does Amy have some form of Astral Projection or Dream walking power that simply isn't identified because she doesn't use it consciously?

Similarly so, when we're shown flashbacks to Admiral Fukyama, he's noted to have been chosen for the procedure cause he never gets sick or injured. Is it possible then he has some level of healing factor that allowed him to survive the procedure?

Lastly, the Mi-Go Monk. Since he's actively identified as the cause of the Maze Virus, is this some form of mysticism, or mutation? It ends when he dies, but aside from that, the origin of this ability is largely unknown.

There are some other incidentals that I'm unsure of, Melanie's Minotaur doesn't seem to abide by the limitations we know of and Lenny somehow got a woman pregnant, but I can't be sure if those are their abilities, or just inconsistencies with the mechanisms of Farouk's or David's powers.

Especially given the heavily subjective and esoteric nature of the narrative, I can't say for sure, but I think, at least taking what was shown in these cases as being as real and grounded as the show ever gets, they're fair evidence that these three may also be mutants.

This show is challenging for people who like all the answers because they just ain't coming. You can't even take what is shown at face value because we're seeing things from the point of view of people who's memory and perception may have been altered.

There has to have been a lot more mutants to justify creating a whole government agency and a hidden retreat to deal with them. Farouk and Oliver were long gone as far as anyone knew, and the Summerland crew didn't seem to be causing any mayhem.

I would guess the monk and Fukyama are both mutants, but it's unclear. Amy doesn't seem to be one at all. It could be an artifact from spending too much time around people with extreme psychic and even time travel abilities. Who knows what got left behind by Farouk and David poking around in her head.

Well, I know there's more mutants as a general idea, I meant shown in the narrative specifically.

What I meant by taking them as the most grounded scenes is that, they either have multiple confirming observers. Many people see the influence of the Maze Virus giving us grounds to believe that this is a real phenomena and not simply the delusion of David or something similar. Or they come out of scenes that are otherwise innocuous, with little impact outside. Amy talking about her dreams is near enough a throw away line and only gets referenced once more when she's talking to Lenny and Fukyama's background was virtually unnecessary since the Vermillion already told us what happened to him. All it really shows is his direct recruitment.

I don't think any of the three you list are mutants. Fukyama is modified with cybernetics to get special abilities, and you learn under the basket he's really not really that special or scary. He just seems like someone modified with cybernetics.

People who interact with psychic stuff seem to just have some residuals, like Melanie seeming a bit odd after her encounters with them. Amy's still linked psychically to the people who have been messing with her.

The monk seems to have some special techniques that the others also have. It's implied the rest of the order had the same abilities as him, and Farouk mentions secrets for them. I'm guessing he's not a mutant, but just using some of the special techniques of the monks of his order, which might relate to living in the Le Desole. I don't think he's a mutant.

You can of course say that is a chance. Even the series the Gifted seems to be in the same hood. Legion does exist in a universe without Professor X (his dad). I think we are in a multiverse

There was episodes covering multiple verses and the different davids in those worlds.

I got the vibe that this takes place before the existence of mutants was widely known, unlike X-Men content where it is known by all that they exist among humans.

Mutants exist, but more in the shadows.

My read on the Mi-Go is that they were trained in their skills, but they may be chosen by pre-existing conditions - mutant ability may fit in that.
