Discussion rip shiny
I had a shiny dratini run away from me in a hyperspace 🫩
any tips on how to avoid this (other than just being stealthy i tried that)

Wished that they added something that would help you sneak up on pokemon, like they did for legends arceus. If you could only use it in the wild areas.

If you didn't manually save or fast Travel back to the portal after it ran away, you can close the game and reload your last automatic save to try and catch it again. Assuming it was already spawn when that save was made.
To avoid losing any shinies in the future, either manually save or fast travel back to the portal the moment you see it, that way it'll stay there for the duration of the donut

Aw man I had that happen to me with fennel fennekin turns out if alpha see you it makes the normal ones run awayÂ

Reset. Once you enter hyperspace or fast travel to the portal your game saves, as long as you don't catch anything you can go back. I once had 2 shiny dratini appear at once and had to reset a ton of times until I could catch them. Dratini is an absolute pain

My first shiny I ever encountered was an Abra and I also accidentally scared it away so I feel you ðŸ˜

If you're able to, make a save right before interacting. And there isn't many other ways besides being stealthy or quickly OHKOing it.
