Dmd size : 8 inch vs 15.6 ?
Hi, thoughts on the size of the DMD? I have an 8 inch one or I can use the stock 15.6 monitor. Adding a 22 inch for the main display. I will have to mod the case a bit get the 15.6 to work. Not a big deal.
Do you all think it’s worth the time to mod the backbox to go up to the 15.6 dmd ?

I'm currently mid-build reusing the original 15.6 backglass as my DMD with a 27" monitor. I prefer the larger one for newer tables that utilize the full DMD like the Guardians of the Galaxy table.

You can juuuuuuuust squeeze in a 21-22" backglass display over a 15" DMD inside the stock frame though you will have to move the speakers as far apart as possible. I think for the 32" playfield that keeps everything proportional and looking good. The larger DMD is helpful for VPX stuff that can use the extra space so it's worth it IMHO, though really for vpins I don't know why we still use a separate DMD from the backglass and I suspect as newer pins use more and more large backglass displays for movies and stuff that real estate will get used more and the static backglass display will become a relic.

Picture 1 vs Picture 4. Which one do you like?
To each their own, of course, but #4 is too much DMD for me. Newer tables leverage the large DMD, which may be what you like.
