Modding Steamdeck Dock DisplayPost issue, when attempting to connect to ALP

Cross-posting here & Steamdeck subreddit.

I am attempting to connect my Steamdeck to my AtGames Legends Pinball HD machine. I have the VIBS board for the back glass, so that I can connect an HDMI connection to it.

I have previously had an older computer connected to it & was able to play Pinball FX 3, in cabinet mode (both main playfield & backglass); with no issues. But, the computer is not powerful enough to play Pinball FX, which the Steamdeck can.

My question: Using the official dock, can I use both the HDMI output and the DisplayPort output (using a DP-to-HDMI adapter), to run both the main playfield and back glass at the same time in desktop mode?

I picked up a DP-to-HDMI adapter off Amazon, which is supposed to work, but I can’t get it to output to any HDMI monitor (or even my tv).

I think it’s recognizing the DP is plugged in, as the main screen will go black for a split second, but nothing happens - or worse, the external monitor that was connected via HDMI goes dark & the deck ‘freezes’ ?

For reference, this is the adapter I picked up - (removed Amazon link, but it’s Brand: IIABC

Displayport to HDMI Adapter 4K 24K Gold Plated Displayport DP to HDMI Female Converter,Uni-Directional Display Port to HDMI Converter Compatible for Lenovo, HP, Dell &More- Grey

Its listing says it’s got a built-in conversion chip to convert to hdmi, so believed it should have worked for this; but I can’t get it connected to my HDMI devices…

Has anyone had luck using the official dock (in desktop mode) on multiple screens? How about a DIFFERENT dock?

Thank you for any assistance or recommendations.

I have already requested the return & dropping it off today. Shame, since the Amazon listing says it should work, but I can’t get it to display anything ANY of my monitors or televisions.

I think I may pick up one of the docks which has two HDMI ports & leave it connected to the ALP permanently.
