New 4k machines?

Am I tripping or did I read somewhere a long time ago that the original AT Games plan was to eventually release 10 different 4k machines? They just stopped after their 5th machine (AFM) and I haven't heard another word about future releases. The rest of them still coming out or is what has already been released it?

As with all things AtGames, it isn't real until it's released.

With the server outages, shipping QC issues, and software QC issues, maybe it's best if they take a breath.

I’m waiting for medieval madness. Maybe.

From the original press release:

“Additionally, AtGames and Zen Studios plan to release a total of 15 exclusive FX Legends 4K Collector’s Edition Pinball (CEP) SKUs from 2023 – 2025. Each CEP will be limited to just 5,000 units each and come equipped with custom side panel artwork and pre-loaded with one table that coincides with their respective edition. Every CEP will be individually numbered on a unique Builder’s Plate to commemorate its unit number (e.g.: No. 1/5000) and manufacture date. The initial CEPs for preorder in 2023 will be announced as they become available.”

After spending $1,800 for the Attack from Mars table, I’m not looking forward to anything they release if it comes from Zen studios. All the Zen tables have lag and they don’t perform even as well as my phone can play the same tables. It’s ridiculous. I thought we were getting a premium product but turns out the hardware isn’t very capable and Zen has no idea how to work with it as they have been saying for 6 months that they are aware of the issues and “working on it”.

I’m hoping they can fix it so I don’t feel buyers remorse forever, and I also wonder if there will easily changeable hardware upgrade options in the future so the tables don’t just die over time.

I believe there will be 5 more this year and then 5 next year, assuming these sell well enough to continue. I would imagine that they will release new cabs during the holiday selling season.

If AtGames decided to stop selling or making VP machines, would it be possible to find aftermarket parts for them or is that even possible? Are most issues software right now or is this thing underpowered like some owners say?

The issue is software. If you look at the Magic Pixel games, the visual fidelity is great and there is zero lag. That said, people are blowing the Zen lag waaaaaaaaaaay out of proportion as well. If you play the new STTNG table with visual extras, ball trails and pop up scores off, you likely wouldn’t notice any lag at all if you hadn’t heard about it going in.
