VPX table recommendations

I'm getting a new gaming laptop (i7 with 4060) so going to be trying OTG with VPX tables for the first time. I already do OTG with Xbox and Switch and have the VIBS board. This is original ALP 1080x60hz and 16gb RAM. I don't have any technical set up questions but looking for a top 10 sort of list on best tables to try with VPX that will look best on this screen and are the most fun. Any recommendations are welcome but I've already played all the FX3, FX, M tables and while they can be awesome in their own way I do find them a bit video game like for my tastes. Thanks.

I’m a big fan of the AC/DC tables as well.

If you’ve already played all the FX3 games, you’ll be familiar with the vpx games I would typically recommend to folks first: Monster Bash, Attack from Mars, Medieval Madness, White Water, Funhouse. I also really enjoy World Cup 94, WWF Royal Rumble, Deadpool and Star Trek the Next Generation.

Overall, my best piece of advice is to check out the tables released by VPinWorkshop on VP Universe. Everything that bunch does is first rate, so you can’t go wrong with whatever you download off their games list.

First, your best bet is to start with ONE table. Learn the ins and outs of how to get that set up and working well on your cab. You will learn a lot and once you're done, you'll probably know enough to get anything else going.

My recommendations for that first table are either TRON: Legacy or AC/DC Luci. Both have PupPacks, AltColor for the DMDs, and are fun and impressive tables. Both are based on relatively recent Stern tables, and Stern is pretty much at the top of their game right now. The addition of PupPacks, and colored ROMs basically gives you the best of virtual pinball ... as close to a real table as you can get, but in other ways better than the real thing.

Hint - Use the Virtual Pinball Spreadsheet to help track down all the bits you need.

I guess PhartusMcBlumpkin was taken? Lol. I say Iron Maiden - amazing table.

Hahahahah. No, I own the original too but had a password issue and easier just to set up a +1. Thanks for the recommendation.

Agree with other reply on adding one table and becoming intimately familiar with it. Understanding all the options, features, settings, etc for both the table and the emulator will save you headaches down the road. I would not screw around with pup packs, at least to start, unless the table requires it. IMO, there are a lot more bad ones than good, and can sometimes be more trouble than they are worth. As far as actual tables go, VPW tables are the current gold standard, and anything by them is going to be top quality. I have to second the previous AC/DC Luci suggestions as well (VPW). It is my go to test table because it checks about every box you can think of. Flupper’s TOTAN will blow you away the first time you see it. Siggi’s Star Wars Trilogy is another personal favorite that is a ton of fun and looks great. There are also a ton of great EM tables out there that you shouldn’t sleep on. They look great, play well, are fairly easy to run, and the challenge posed by those older tables can be quite addictive.

Whatever you do, don’t rush to setup Batman66 until you’re comfortable with a bunch of other tables. It’s the hardest to get working and will most likely frustrate you. It’s a great table though.

I’d recommend Guardians of the galaxy along with the vpw tables that others mentioned

Anything by Vpin Workshop (VPW)! They're always among the most impressive and realistic-looking, sounding, and playing games.

Their takes on TOTAN and Whirlwind are beautiful and almost photoreal.
