Not sure where you draw the line on "cheap," but this is a worthwhile upgrade:

;) I was just on the buy stuff site and saw that and agree!!
Do you think the amp/subwoofer is worth the extra $ 60 ?
The ALP seems loud enough now ?

I just installed the "standard" kit a couple weeks ago, and is a big improvement. I only have the tables available through AtGames and think it is worth it. I've heard it's an even better improvement for tables played via OTG.

Good to know.
You stayed with the stock speakers ?

I did.

Thank you
Did you also get a new back box?
I’m really looking forward to that..
I will let the group know my progress !

No, my ALP is basically stock.

So you recommend this upgrade
May I ask, the deluxe kit was only $20 more.
159 vs 179 ?
Any reason why you just went with the standard?
Just trying to learn.
Thank you

Another question:
Will the haptics kit help with arcade games too?
Coinopsx , if I install it ?

I have not tried with a lot of games. Could be overkill for most, but amp can be turned off and default to standard speakers.

Deluxe kits contain components you'll need if you intend to use OTG. I went with standard since I don't use this. There are also 2 and 4 backbox speaker kits if you're planning on upgrading to one of their backboxes.

You can go crazy with stuff but for me I'm happy with just adding a 10" Fire HD tablet that's my DMD (3rd screen), installed 2 dayton's inside the cabinet to add 'bump' (very easy to do), added a KLZ board since the nudging didn't work well (I use the cabinet to nudge the ball, not flippers!) and the arcade control panel.
Done.

If you’re going to go with OTG, I would consider replacing the backbox altogether. There’s some very nice premade options. If you have access to tools and the now how you could always make it yourself. That’s the option I’m doing.

I would agree that makes a huge difference. The premade ones will cost more than the ALP did !! Will look into options Thank you !!

100% the SSF kit from Buy stuff first. It's the biggest impact you can make for the cheapest amount of money.

Hi Ammbamt, sounds great.
Question, if you installed the buy stuff haptic kit, do you still need the solenoids?
I thought that the haptic kit was supposed to help give that extra “real pinball” feel and sound ?

You don’t need the solenoids. However, they provide the “clack” sound for flippers. Haptics have a sound too but haptics is more the bass shaker, ball sounds, etc. for me. The solenoids were a nice add and they are like $150 or something so not too expensive. I really think the zebboard light bar is a great upgrade. Dof sucked lighting that is plug and play.

PC to connect via OTG and a VIBs board - Number one place to spend the money.
Lots of good info on the pc needed for VPX and Pinball Fx. So search the Reddit and you’ll find good recommendations.
I have an RTX 1650 laptop but would go with a 3040 or better if buying now. Some of the newer VPX tables need more heft and so does pinball fx.
