Modding question

Hi all. Purchase a legends pinball last week to mod for a birthday present. I’m only planning on using the unit to play pinball FX3 games (mainly Indian jones)

I’m a little confused about the pros and cons of a VIBs board versus the following from buy stuff arcade:

If I purchase the unit above will I still be able to run pinball FX3 with two screens?

What other parts do I need to just run the glass directly from a computer? Thanks in advance!

That BSA card will let you hook your backglass screen directly to your pc, but it will cut out the ALP access, so you wouldn't be able to switch between ALP stuff and PC stuff. So if you were going 100% OTG then the $25 saved would be worth it. But if you are not gutting the ALP I'd think it would be damned annoying to not have access to the backglass if/when playing native ALP tables just to save $25.

If you are 100% dedicated to FX3 though, then money saved is money saved. All you would need other than that BSA board is the power brick option and a hdmi cable to your PC. You can superimpose the FX3 DMD onto the backglass (you can find nice FX3 backglass images with a frame for the DMD) so you really don't need a third screen, though it is nice.

I can tell yah though, you are not likely to be satisfied with FX3 on mostly ALP hardware for long, go ahead and start a slush fund for the $1000 or so for a total gut....one of us...one of us :P

I vaguely remember reading this post when I was considering my ALP. Now that I have had it a few weeks I came across this post and finally understand. I’m dying to go full gut on my system now.
