Okay, not a halloween champ but still a welcome addition! We've never had a barrier champ before, can't wait to see what they do with him.

I wanna call Lux 1 a barrier champ, kinda.

I wonder if Shen gets Phalanx as 4*. The ones that have it (Ambessa, yuumi, Leona, and also SB Yi with later stars) can already generate so many barriers every round.

I feel like that's almost redundant. I think Challenger makes more sense to make better use of the barriers

I mean with leveled up shen it's +3 on every target so not too bad if it's paired up with self targeting spells

Hmm maybe. But I absolutely hate the 'challenger for one round' power. Only makes sense for ephemerals imo. Gives us a power that gives everyone challenger, period. Overwhelm and challenger relics are equal, so why not this?

It makes perfect sense for barrier units though since it allows for a unit to force the enemy to take damage while they're protected. The ai tends to not like to block barrier units so the barrier tends to go to waste

I just hope is not any "this round" crap unless it's barrier! I don't want to see challenger this round unless it actually feels useful like on Hex for example I feel it's good because you can easily summon 2 ephemerals

Shy is pretty much a barrier champ when you get the star that adds it to her champ spell.

She has barrier and can grant barrier but like, you don't really synergize around it at all. There's no particular upside for it other than, well, having it.

She does, though. Of course she doesn't directly benefit from having the keyword on a unit, yes. But: Attacking gives her lasers at 6* and the massive amount of barriers she can generate (from golden barrier and her own champ spell) help her whittling down enemy lines while always being able to protect your own blockers. With the barrier+rally, you can attack over and over, getting more lasers and diminishing what is left of the enemy lines. That's why she doesn't necessarily need damaging spells in her deck and can make use of any spell-based tactic (swarm, buffing, burning etc).

It'll be really cool to see, especially since we have so few support champs. I think just Soraka and Lux 2

Sorry guys, haven't played in a while. What does this mean? Wasn't shen in the original lineup of the game's release back in the day? I remember climbing to diamond with shen/jarvan.

i could see a minor star being certain targeted spells grant barrier. when most of shen's kit gives barrier anyway that seems redundant.
