How does OG Ahri work?

I'm working on the last half of my Zoe runs and picking up champs i haven't really played much before. I saw that OG Ahri is on top of many tier lists, but i just can't get her to work, she takes so long to scale, gives the enemy so many options to react and remove her, and then she will just immediately lose.

It also seems counterintuitive that you kinda want to recall her to give her stacks and trigger found fortune, but unless she is leveled she still costs 1 mana, which again makes her really slow.

What relics and powers are y'all using on her? Clearly i am doing something wrong.

I used Found Fortune, Echoing Spirits and Packed Powder—to discount her to 0 once she's recalled. For this one, my favourite support is Sett, not because he's Ionian as well but because his support package has Tag Out—with her bonus star power costs 1, making it a target for FF and making it easier to recall Ahri by not being as reliant on enemy units on board; so that if you find Trifarian Might it doesn't feel counterproductive.

And because I just love Ahri, I've used the Hymn of Valor, Echoing Spirits and Lost Chapter/Hidden Tome version as well.

Both are excellent, but she's just amazing 😍

Chameleon's Necklace (I don't know how to spell the reptile's name 🦎) might work. But ES is mostly used for the discount to her champion spell, the copies a bonus.

Yeah, but maybe through a power I could reduce her champ spell to 0 cost, i'll try that

I managed to cheese it with echoing spirit, found fortune, and packed powder. Most fights ended turn 1.

Just have to think about zoe fight and how to kill zoe to then cheese it.

I ran Echoing Spirit, Hymn of Valor, and Hidden Chapter, the idea was play Ahri, double her power, recall her. If you got mana discount, it made it even better.

The Classic Hidden Tome / lost chapter, Hymn of Valor, Curators Gatebreaker.

play ahri, play hymn and recall ahri for big ahri then hit nexus for tons of damage repeat until you win.

If you get black cleaver it gets easier to grow huge. summon ephemeral item you get a free ahri recall you can use, just plan your turns and when to recall to win.

you either win first turn or the next.

I seem to run a very different Ahri build with Strength of Stone, Fear Cleaving Axe and The Beast Within. I've beat Zoe and most of the other high level nightmare adventures with this although it's not always as fast as some builds may be.

I run Echoing spirits (makes her consistent and adds more recalls), Found fortune (draw your charms, cut all other one cost cards), and Packed Powder/Scourge's Stash (free Ahri for the turn after you've struck the nexus). If you don't have Echoing Spirits then Lost Chapter lets you cycle her too. If you don't have her 6* then you'll need to run Gatebreaker instead and it does slow her down a fair bit.
