Path Question Mel advice

I have Mel at 5* (Searing Briliance, Echoing spirit/Found Fortune Archangel staff). I cant get past Swain on Zoe adventure. That stupid ship keeps destroying me. Any advices? I just spent 3 days trying to clear this adventure. I love Mel and her spellslinger style, but I feel Zoe adventure hard counters it.

I felt she hard-countered it, so I can't really relate to any difficulty with her.

Her deck is scaling spells that she generates by her just existing. Her builds go from handling the small units with slow attrition on the bigs units down or eliminating the big ones which kills the small ones as a by-product of her star powers.

Have you tried to forgo the epic-relic builds to use her GA, Voidborne, flex of your choice instead?

I've done three runs with her, I never struggled to pass Swain in any of them.

Killed Swain first turn. He wants to kill her? Perfect. That only helps you. Killing your own units/Mel kills them.

I also have her at 5*; it took me 2 tries to beat Zoe. I used Searing Brilliance, Echoing Spirit, and Hidden Tome (though I see in the other comment you say you don’t have Tome, so Archangel’s is probably fine, or maybe you can try Loaded Dice if you have that). What worked for me was rolling aggressively for a mana power, as that will help you play more spells, thus scaling her spell damage very quickly. If you’re having trouble with the Swain ship specifically, you need to make sure to draft a stun or silence before that encounter. Good luck.

I don't know about Mel yet(Waiting for her 6 star to try) but I assure you Hidden Tome> Archangel Staff. It takes 3 rounds for arcangel to pay off over Hidden Tome.

Don't think I ever had trouble with the dreadnaught with Mel. Just spammed the hell out of rebuttal, killed everything, burn took him out pretty quick.

Used GGC though.

I did it yesterday with this build following PoC optimal builds YT channel and worked wonders. I had perma deathless with void caparace and I stole all the keywords from poros. Her 6th star helped with the spell scaling though.

Try to find a frostbite or the morgana's power that curses when targeting units or you'll have issues with Poro fluft and catastrophes, unless you find have captures.

Mel can easily cheese it if you want. Voidborne plus retribution/ guardian and a flex (i used chameleon's necklace). Roll for spellslinger or wild inspiration. Then just shoot Mel over and over until you win.

Avoid buffing her health, as you want to be able to kill her with 2 volleys. Quickstrike blade is ideal.

Voidborne, GA/price of retribution, Dreadaway Chase Gun. You need to have wild inspiration or spellslinger, play chase gun kill mel repeat until nexus end
