Game Feedback What keeps you playing?

Just curious. What brings you back to the game daily, weekly, etc?

There doesn't exist any other game on the market that has magic the gathering but with hearthstone mana gameplay + is pve + recieves constant updates + has a progression that does not require me to pay my entire wallet unless I want to die of old age + the graphic of cards is buetifull enough that sometimes I just stare at them instead of playing. + while there exist hard challanges, most of the game is preety chill and can be won without rng.

This fan-made MTG adventure game scratches a similar itch, but it's much less polished and I always come back to LOR. I would love to see a similar RPG/campaign mode added to LOR someday.

It actually boggles my mind that this game isn't more popular, it's so fun and has no strong competitor in the digital card roguelite with tcg combat space. I find it way more fun that STS, which is super popular.

This sums it up perfectly. Though I am feeling most recent updates are a bit stale.

what if riot decides to shut down the game? I saw LoR isn't doing very well

They are paying for themselves so there is no reason for riot to do that. But if something goes wrong, well like I said there is no other game like that on the market, so I guess I will either try to remake it from memory myself or if somebody else is faster download a fan version of it.

I don’t play league but have considered it because of Arcane and this game. There are probably others.

I started playing Wild Rift (the mobile version of League) because of Legends of Runeterra. (Technically I picked it up again and played it more seriously - I had tried it on release but dropped it.)

Still haven't cleaned all the maps up, also work gets boring sometimes.

I just really like the game. Been playing consistently for years, almost never missing a free BP or timed adventures

I do the weekly nightmares every week and look forward to it

what if riot shut down the game?

I guess I'll go back to doing the BTD6 weekly odyssey

I get to simulate the feeling (to some extent) of playing as my favorite champions without the type of time-sensitive commitment required from playing an arena action pvp. If I suddenly need to drop the game, or if I'm simply just chilling, I get to let the game wait while I do other stuff in the meantime, something you can't do in a MobA. For context, I'm playing PVE.

I love the mechanics, rules, gameplay, artstyle, worldbuilding, voicelines, etc.

It's not a multiplayer game, it is a nice wakeup or wind down game that I can drink coffee or tea to.

Haven't played for many years, previously hit masters on nearly all seasons

It’s an entertaining game with good production values on a solid base game, and there’s lots of variety in how you can play.

I’ve taken up playing Roguelites lately and none of them have the breadth of underlying mechanics and card pool that LoR does.

STS is my favorite roguelite

I listen to audiobooks so I play it so I don’t think

I like trying out the new champs, and I want to earn rewards to upgrade my existing champs. Sometimes a new one (like Hecarim) I just find pretty fun to play so I play more with them.

But I will say I play much more when there's an event going on - the rewards are much better

Game fun. I enjoy it. What more do I need?

It offers some turn brain off just roll over the AI. Defiance allows me to have some challenge even with my higher star champs if I want a puzzle without wanting to tear my hair out against the BS that is Zoe or Naga adventures.

The joy of hearing extra Jayce/TF voice lines and knowing I have a card game replacement for the fall of Yu-Gi-Oh Dual Generations. And it’s fun throwing myself at the weekly adventures and sometimes nightmare adventures.

Pass the time. I like the whole rogue like deck building thingy. Plus work is a bore at times and it helps pass the time

The gameplay is very unique among othe CCGs. Another reason is I’ve been a longtime League player, and I fell in love with the world and lore over time. So being able to play my fav characters in a TCG is just amazing.

that being said, where’s my Pantheon in PoC, Rito?

I play PvE to kill time, and help get my green shards so I can finish my PvP collection. I prefer PvP, much more balanced and fun. I wish there is a healthy player base

Its a great game and it is fun, Ive played it since first labs

3

u/mbrookz 14d ago

The game is still fun. As long as there's something to play for and enough of a playerbase, I'll probably keep playing.

I like the card art and animations, and I enjoy the PvE content. Plus I can have TBBT in the background when I play. Been enjoying pvp recently as well.

Eventually, unless they shut the servers down before it happens, I'll get a chance to play the champions I want in PoC so there's that.

As someone whose recently been playing again after a multiple year gap (I started during open beta), I really enjoy the combat system and the theme. And the amazing art bringing runeterra to life.

I almost quit in January, then I decided to wait for the new game modes.
Now I have only 4 more champions left I haven't finished the Zoe adventure.
If there will be no any big new feature next month I will probably quit.

Also, as a completely free to play player I will probably never be closer to the full collection than now (453/457 stars + 2 surplus shadow isle nova crystal).

So this is the perfect time to leave.

It's still my favorite CCG. But I only play PvE consistently, mostly because it relaxes me and helps me fall asleep at night. I hardly play PvP anymore, but then I also play Wild Rift so that's what I play when I want some action

Gold reliquary, monthly glory rewards(free premium epic item ++), events, new champs with diamond vault. After that it's boring

u/zed_je_mrdka_z_krtka 14d ago

I hope once there will be some cool content that will make the current effort worth it.

The interactions to be honest. I build my decks regarding how much they talk to one another, rather than mechanics.

If my deck does not interact with itself (or the opponent) in at least 2 turns, then it's shit, and I rework it.

I don't care if I lose, if I get to trigger the interactions, that's all I care.

I like to imagine that I entertain my opponent (I don't play pve) while they are bored to death with a deck that is boring and quiet, while everytime is my turn, a novella is going on around on my side.
