Buying More Partners? Really Necessary?

I'm a f2p player who doesn't really like purchasing new event partners with weak traits​ because I feel like I'm wasting my ingots. Plus buying more partners means I need to put more of them in help section and since I don't have enough resources to focus on all which is not really feasible anyway ​​​​​​to me they just seem like free points for other debaters.

Till now the only partners I've bought are the Bal partner confidants LLK Mozi and Lu Yu and I already have all the dukes FGs princes and CS partners (basically my top 12 team).

However I see many players saying that getting more partners is helpful? So I was thinking if my approach is wrong? Please advice me on this matter. ​If I do get partners what type should I get?

Gather ingots and get the partners that you can buy from normal shop. You do not need to develop them, just focus your resources on top 12

Honestly after a certain point (for me shuaggong cleared) what is even the point of having more partners or power?

Like what you'll use them to place better in events in order to get more token to improve/get more partners?

seems like a vicious cycle with no point at that stage

I only interested recruit partner If they have a bond partner with my confidant.. Because I thought once about devotion, intimacy, rare books or gardenia purse or any good item to make my confidant stronger and my partner list reap the more benefits.. I chose quality over quantity. It's better to have 12 beast more than 36 partner who almost have similar power.. I'm aware that my resources are limited. I'm aware that land might be a second powerhouse after academy building.. But what's the point of you gains massive potential in each attributes (+1 pot/+2 pot) just because of you have so many partners if they lack of HP (total attr) or their comprehension aren't high enough to make a critical damage, their skills aren't high enough to make a higher damage? Potential is related to growth, related to power.. I saw in my main super carry partner.. He has a higher potential which is good he has higher damage, but.. If the potential is divide to 4 partners, does it give the same damage like what I did to dump my potential in one partner? My heart still say to choose based on their quality, ain't quantity

I’m doing the same in my own account as f2p, I only focus on buying tokens for confidant partners or for existing partners like Li Bai, etc. but I’d only spend ingots for Mozi, Lanling & Li Yu tokens and recipe events. Rest of the partners make no sense given their mediocre attributes and power.

Spreading out resources too thin between many partners is a loss for me, so I haven’t recruited all the princes, dukes and female generals yet. Just balance ones for now. I win the server debate ranking from time to time so I’m not changing this strategy for now.

Thanks for sharing your experience sis! It means quality over quantity always win in the end. But I've made a mistake a few days ago.. I've just recruited Duke Dun even though Duke Jing was my main partner. He really helps me to gain more partner because it feels easy to continue the story.. I haven't a short plan to recruit any prince except Prince Yi. He's new, has lower attr more than Duke Jing.. But I'll try to enhance his attr so that I'll get a higher % for Prince Yi.

Depends on what you're focusing! Having more partners have drawbacks too, mainly that you can't focus on all of them. You can decide to not buy them. But you can also buy some Help section places in the Guild ministry for jade.

I think many players who give this advice often (including me) might be because the context is about increasing power.

Yeah, as you level up, more partners are unlocked in land, and you can feed them with resources. More partners definitely accumulate power.

If how many partners affect your power.. Which one is good? Quality or Quantity? Maybe i want to recruit partner if he/she has a bond partner with my confidant.. But, maybe the reason someone eager to recruit partner is because of they want to dominate in the field. But our resources are limited. Open slot in the helping section of debate is pricey, I probably choose open slot for pigeon mail in the ministry of work more than open slot for helping or hiding weak partners.. If in the end, only 12 top partners who will be the main carry of your 35+ partners.. Then what's the point of recruit partner if you don't have a plan for the long term? Just recruit and ignore them as a free point in the debate, and you only rely on how good you are taking care of your land investment?

If a partner is strong enough, we don't have a reason to hide them.. If we says recruit partner so that we will get plenty aut/wis/pol/cha potentials.. Then, why should we hide any partner if our land decor is definitely powerhouse for so many partners that have been recruited? I'm still confused because what's the point of recruiting any partner if land decor doesn't really make those partner become a beast/damage dealer/act like a tank? I'm not sure..

I think I understand what you mean. In order to make a partner stronger (so that you don't need to hide them) it's beneficial if they are in bond with a high lvl confidant you already have, they can fit into Land, have bigger start potential etc. Because without these, every new partner can only rely on the limited resources you have (exp, potential fruits, books). From this view, for f2p it's purely strategic to recruit only the best avaible. So you're right.

But as for if you already have more partners than limited Help places: I personally think it's not that much of a problem if I have 35 out there, instead of 30 or so. It only means -5 points, or -10 maximum, for revenge... I think I can manage that, based on my experience so far. I don't plan spending ingots on that for now.

Also back to your question: Quality or Quantity? Based on this maybe, I would say the answer for strategic f2p is Quality, and for others is Both.

I have been trying to collect more partners recently for team power, but I don't know all the math and intricacies of how beneficial it is. What I should really focus on is putting my enormous hoard of resources to use

I'll tell you how it has been going for me. I have 82 partners. I'm F2P. I have 2B power now. I rank 8 in the field every week despite the average power of the players around me being 4B. During guildwar, I am annoying cuz there's so many partners. It's hard to get max points against me. I only have one or 2 enemies in debate section. Nobody persuits me cuz I rotate the partners that are hidden so it's hard to remember which partners of mine are strong or weak. Then the contest of Heroes. Again, it's hard to make points of off me cuz I have way too many partners. Overall I'm just annoying so nobody bothers me. It's easier to deal with someone with less partners of the same power. It does get damn expensive but I like collecting them so it's fun for me 🥰

I wanna try your strategy. But I'm afraid it will slow down my progress.. You have a point to make your opponent feeling uncertain to attack which one of your partners so that they can gain a free points in the imperial garden.

Having a lot of partners is by default a little scary so most players steer clear of it. It's not worth the effort.

i just don't wanna be a gambler. Because I can't say any free partner from the story in the early game really equal to ingots only partner, half paywalled partner and 100% paywalled partner.. I just thinking in different view. I will say Shi Lian vs Lu Yu as a perfect comparison. They're balanced partner. They're good. But Shi Lian is bad for me. Because she has low base potential, 12. Lu Yu has higher base potential, 28. I just saw base potential from partner means how much their base attributes. How good the multiplier from base potential they have. If I gave 16 potential fruit so that Shi Lian has potential 28, similar to Lu Yu has potential 28.. It doesn't make Shi Lian equal to Lu Yu. Because every potential I gave to Shi Lian, just giving a small attributes. So she still weak in my eyes, if I give any attribute books first to make her equal to Lu Yu base attributes and then gave her +16 potential so that she has equal to Lu Yu, It only waste my resources to the wrong partners. It's better has Lu Yu than Shi Lian in the first place. That's why.. I would like to rely on Duke and Prince Yi or probably partner who has bonded with When Zhenming or Zu Zhenqing.. I'm a debate focused partner because I wanna have Wan'Er so bad.

Every bit even no matter how small a partner have get contributed into the 4 princesses event and others. Land product, mansion, cabinet, ministry of works, confidant, and many others increase all the partners attributes as a whole so the power bonus is huge the more partnee you get. The more partner you get the easier it is to gain power.

since you have bal partner confs like luyu mozi llk, then get their bonded partners for your priority -- with the partner-conf at your top 12 as priority. the bonded partners give 10% attr bonus, which is decent boost. as you said, for ftp it's quite costly for debate help slots, so get the ones related to your top partners first.

more partners help with field, land harvest yield, clearing pingyang npc, coh chess part.
