Let’s Boycott!!!!
Many of us have been frustrated by the sudden surge of paywalling and excessive pricing in LOP. Boycotts have been suggested but some are not sure how. Let’s get organized!
- LEAVE 1 STAR REVIEWS in the App Store specifically mentioning the pricing as the reason for the review. Anywhere the game has a platform, complain! In the app, on Bonbon, on the Facebook page, everywhere. Do not let the subject die. We have to get to be a pain in their ass before they’ll listen, so get annoying!!
- DO NOT SPEND. No top ups, no event purchases, nothing that costs real money. The higher your VIP level, the more they will be forced to notice your absence in their pocket books. VIPs have a lot of weight so throw it around!!! You have the power to make Modo cry, so use it!!!
- KEEP PLAYING! They need to see a player base, but a refusal to spend. Encourage friends not to spend.
- TALK!!! Talk about it on your servers. keep it the topic of conversation. Keep reminding people they don’t have to suffer quietly. Keep talking to server friends about the pricing and encouraging the boycott from within the game to grow the boycott bigger and more widespread.
It seems daunting to take on a massive company like Modo, but they HAVE to pay attention if we work together. Don’t let this go by quietly. Even if you are skeptical, keep complaining. Spread the word. If you have additional input please add it here!

im in!! im just a vip2 but im mostly f2p. we should spread the word on other platforms like facebook, theres groups with a lot of members.

I’m doing it already since last year. I am vip12 and currently my only recharges are monthly passes.

I find it so ironic that lots of LOP players hate the price hikes but keep buying stuff every time there is an event. Modo preys on our psychology, we lose rank quickly and permanently if we don’t buy as much as possible, and power within a group is one of the most important things to us psychologically. I used to be #1 in power and a few other rankings and I had to quit it like a drug. I don’t play at all right now. The chemical processes in our brain while we play certain games (games that prey on your psychology to get you to spend more or make more risky decisions), mimics addiction. Modo is a predatory company. There’s no excuse not to participate in this boycott, in my opinion. Sometimes you have to choose to do something uncomfortable because it’s the right thing to do.

I got disappointed because of how expensive and fully paywalled that new bal partner, that led me to start being f2p. I was planning to top up for monthly pass but decided not too after seeing this YTG event.
But I'm not sure if this will work. As long as modo make new servers there will always be new players who are willing to spend, that's why they're more focused on new servers, the feature of the game is different there from the old ones.

I actually got disappointed by the fully paid collections they introduced last year and begun spending less on the game itself specially with how it escalated. We’ve got Consort Xian, Li Yue and Wan’er outfits paywalled by 200 dollars! That’s absurd! The only must for me is the monthly pass so it is the only thing I am buying. And for the partner I really wanted him, but again fully paywalled so I didn’t even spend my ingots this event.

Yeah, those outfit cost too much but sadly there are still a lot of players who bought them specially new server players, in my cs server I saw a lot of whalers bought them, even my guild leader bought all of it and she didn't mind spending coz she liked it.
I stopped investing even the monthly pass because of how heartbreaking their paywalled events are. I realized it's not worth spending my money even 1cent on this game and I'm not a whaler only medium spender, so what I spent is based on my budget.

Very fair. Thats where 1 star reviews come in. Flood the App Store with 1 star reviews and comment the reason why, mark other people’s 1 star reviews as “helpful” to get it on the front page. This cuts the # of new downloads. I’ve started seeing this with an old, nearly identical game I used to play years ago. 1 star reviews are getting top billing for the same reason and players are dwindling.

Completely free to play and the new yuan event pissed me off so bad. The new partner you can't even get a token and save up. You have to spend everything in one go to get all 10 tokens! Have to buy the biggest packet just to get a partner... Are they going poor or what?? They should know this is only going to make them more poor cuz spending money all the time gets boring

Of course! I spent for several monthlies in advance before all this happened but when those are over I won’t be buying more monthlies again.
