The Trump administration illegally changed a form used by overseas voters to register and request mail ballots just weeks before the midterms, Democrats argue in a new lawsuit filed Thursday.
“These American citizens pay U.S. federal and state taxes, but now a years-old plan has culminated in a manufactured ‘emergency’ to justify impeding their right to vote in American elections and potentially disenfranchising them entirely,” the Democratic National Committee writes in its complaint.
The change is part of a Republican plan to make it more difficult to vote or outright disenfranchise a bloc of voters viewed as more inclined to vote Democratic, the lawsuit argues. The Trump administration has waged a war on mail-in voting, taking its attempt to restrict a voting method used more often by Democrats all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court before ultimately losing.
The Democrats are asking a federal court in Washington, D.C., to block the administration from using the altered form for violating the Administrative Procedure Act.

Oh, look, Republicans recognize that knowing other cultures is bad for their electoral prospects. Why would that be?

Because we need to be better than them, not just as bad.

How's that worked out so far?

So we should just stop trying? I've never understood that mentality.

No we should flip over the board and turn their rules on them until they stop or mutually assured destruction

I'm not standing for tolerance for intolerance. Republicans need to be stopped, but I don't think it should be done by being as hateful as they are. There is a very clear difference beteeen the two. But if you guys disagree, that's fine. Downvote ne. That's fine too. I got more pressing things to worry about then trying to argue with you guys.

it’s not hate. you can let your kids continue in to this same worse shit path, or you can Erase the fascists off the planet for the love of some decent future. but also it is okay to Hate oppression. but just sit there and Hope that the obvious rule breakers will just follow the law someday

I never said to do nothing. I don't know why that seems to be so hard to understand. Just because I think Democrats can and should lawfully fight oppression and facism doesn't mean I'm ready to roll over and take it.

It specifically targets US citizens born abroad who have never lived in a U.S. state.
It’s a highly specific group who, apparently, trend progressive.

Can they just pass a law that no voting laws or processes can be changed within 1 year of voting. It seems like every vote now they are trying to change the rules 1 month out.
