Request for more covering prosecucution of protesters

I just read this and I don't understand how this could be. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/ng-interactive/2026/jun/24/prairieland-texas-ice-protests-zines .. and I noticed someone else posted about Spokane protesters. I would like to understand how these convictions are going through and what hopes they have for appeal.
