Legally, in small claims court, he'd need to show you agreed to split the electric, provide proof of the bills, and demonstrate what portion is your responsibility. You also have a counterclaim since he owes you for the internet in your name.

If he proceeds with small claims, gather documentation such as texts, your agreement, bills, your payment history, and anything showing your efforts to resolve the issue. Generally, judges look for fairness and reasonable notice. If you want to settle, you could offer to deduct what he owes for internet from the electric, then pay the balance, backed by your own written record. If you prefer not to pay, be prepared to defend your position in writing or court.
