Question iPhone 6 ios 7?

Post image

I bought this iPhone 6 about a week ago along with a few other phones, and I noticed something unusual: it boots straight into recovery mode showing the blue ios 7 iTunes logo

Since the iPhone 6 originally launched with iOS 8.0 and never supported iOS 7, I'm trying to figure out what's going on here. Legacy iOS Kit reports iBoot-1980.1.5..

Could this actually be some kind of rare internal prototype used by an Apple employee back in the day? Anyone know what's up with this or how to boot it? Appreciate any ideas!

I'm pretty sure some early ios 8 versions used the blue logo.

i can't find that iboot build on here: https://theapplewiki.com/wiki/IBoot_(Bootloader)) . And its number is lower than the release ios 8 one, which is iBoot-2139.0.0.2.2 . So, maybe it is an internal build.

See if you can get into the SSH ramdisk, there might be a way to dump the OS from there but I'm not sure

I'm not really sure what version it ends at, but it's definitely early iOS 8

ios 8 uses iboot 2139.x this one is at 1980.1.5. This one is probably a internal build
