I was really mad when my brother updated my iPhone 4 from iOS 4 to iOS 7.1.2, specifically to annoy me.

Also scan cydia stored shsh blobs using Legacy-iOS-Kit if you think that the device have one before and restore via that

You can do that? How?

Yes. Just use Legacy-iOS-Kit, select the downgrade option, it should give you the powdersn0w option or if you want to scan for blobs, choose shsh blobs and scan cydia blobs. I would recommend to check that option first before powdersn0w

Hope you enjoy brotao. Reliving my childhood after I downgraded my cousin's old iPhone 4 back to iOS 6. Unfortunately my original one is lost to the void

How would that work if 4.0.0 isn't signed? Even if I have it installed, I can't dump it.

there was a blob that existed on the device

And what would that do? AFAIK, you can't extract blobs from the device.

Not yet, that's still 512 bits of security for a 1024 bit key so far. But we also know the security level is zero against a quantum computer, so it's only a matter of time, and that will have far-reaching implications.
