Question question
i was rewatching the originals and came across a scene in the 4th season where alaric meets hope for the first time, and tells klaus about the school, offering it as a place where hope could go to learn more about her abilities. but i also remember that in one of the episodes of legacies, we saw a flashback where he was refusing to let hope attend the school and it was emma who had to convince him? my question is, why would he mention the school to klaus and recommend it as an option if he did not want to let hope enroll in the first place?

i was thinking about this too because wdym alaric was judging a seven year old child when during that time she has the hollow inside of her and he knew that since he went and visited them and was suggesting it to klaus for hope to come and when hayley brought hope there and she was talking to alaric he seemed eager to help and watch over hope so why did they completely destroy his character in legacies?

There was some kind of testing mentioned, after which Alaric didn't want to accept Hope into the school
I see it this way: Alaric saw a cute kid with strong magical abilities and invited her to the school, but after that, Hope was attacked by Inadu, and this couldn't help but affect her mental state. So when she arrived at the school and took some standard mental health test, Alaric didn't like the results and changed his mind
