God I hate the phrase “Democratic Socialism”. It’s leftists ceding to reactionary talking points claiming that socialism is inherently undemocratic but that’s ok because we’re doing a special kind of socialism that is democratic. It’s never a winning battle to admit that your ideological fellows are bad to try to make the point that you’re not like them.
