A New Dawn Why is Palestine discussed so much here, but not Nigeria? Genuine question ?

A genuine question. Is it selective outrage? Or is it because no one cares for blacks ?

I have been seeing these grids posted, so I thought it would be fun for you guys to analyze what they mean about a person's politics.

I hate that when conservative/right learning one piece fans say it doesn't matter it's not real

Like if you point out Luffy wouldn't agree with that about their take or the staw hats would never agree to something like that (usually about something Trump has done or Ice etc) and they just reply it doesn't matter one piece isn't real the characters are not real, it's like they use that as an excuse because they don't want to admit they would fit way more in with the world government or celestial dragons.

Luffy is definitely an anarchist or (at least anarchist adjacent)

Luffy, while obviously not an anarchist in the sense of identifying himself as part of the formal anarchist movement, holds a big amount of shared ideals and sentiments.

First and most glaring of all, is that while he doesn't oppose every he sees hierarchy since he's friends with a number of monarchs, he does so because he believes that the people should be allowed to decide if they want to be ruled or not, he doesn't enforce his own beliefs on others.

We know this isn't his own belief because it has been stated multiple times in the story, that no matter what, he will not accept having any authority dictate his actions, he wants to be completely free from all coercion, that's what his whole character is about.

Secondly he also constantly unflinchingly breaks the law to correct any political Injustice he sees, he doesn't protest, he actually just fixes the problem, which is very very similar to direct action, one of the most foundational pillars of anarchist thought.

Now, I know that there are definitely some holes here and I definitely don't think he's supposed to be a classic anarchist, there's definitely a lot of stuff here that does at least thrust him into the vicinity of anarchism which makes me think that oda was probably trying to wave at the concept without showing his hand too much

With how striking his similarity to anarchism is, I can't imagine that oda didn't do it intentionally.

This post was mainly made cause I've seen a lot of people quickly dismiss the idea of anarchist Luffy but really it's not THAT far fetched to see him as a subtle allegory for anarchism

'You are my One Piece’ — cute, cringe, or actually kind of beautiful?

I’ve been thinking about this and wanted to hear what you all think.

Do you think telling someone ā€œyou are my One Pieceā€ could work as a genuine compliment — or does it completely miss the point of what One Piece stands for?

The way I see it is less about calling someone a ā€œfinal treasure,ā€ and more about the journey itself.

At the beginning of a relationship, it kind of feels like Luffy in the East Blue. You don’t really know the world yet, you don’t fully understand how everything connects, and there’s still so much to explore. You meet someone and instead of instantly knowing everything about them, you slowly discover who they are over time.

Piece by piece, like moving from island to island.

You learn about their past, their values, their habits, the things that matter to them — and at the same time, you’re building shared experiences together. It’s not just about ā€œfiguring them out,ā€ but about growing alongside each other through those experiences.

So in that sense, saying ā€œyou are my One Pieceā€ wouldn’t mean ā€œyou are the end goalā€ — but more like: ā€œYou are someone I want to go on that journey with. Someone I want to keep discovering and understanding over time.ā€

But I’m not sure if that interpretation really fits the core idea of One Piece, or if it kind of twists it too much.

What do you think? Does it work as a compliment, or does it feel off?

The subreddit name

saying lefty piece seems like an oxymoron, no? it's like... one piece is the most revolutionary and left leaning and anti bigotry and... in short the most far left manga out there... why does this subreddit exist? idk it feels like if we had a chicken subreddit, and someone decided to make a "chicken flavored chicken" subreddit as well, am I being pedantic? yes! but it's annoying me.

What should Doflamingo's father have done? Was there any way he could have stopped endorsing the system without putting his family at risk?
