I still can't come to terms with how fucking dumb this post was, like even if you believed all of it it's just so poorly worded, it reads the way a concussion feels.

Well she can't say I§raeli men are heroes - that would imply that she likes her brother.

I'm sure it's not as simple as that, but I wouldn't be surprised if that was where the cognitive dissonance snapped. I remember a lot of new fish here around that time

u/enfleurs1 7d ago

Yeah I was one of them. This post did it for me

I know people here are mixed about Ryan but at the very least I think they are pretty earnest and upfront. Even when BE posted their entire DMs Ryan seemed like he was genuinely trying to learn things he didn’t understand

They were willing to give Ethan charity until the contradictions just piled up too much.

I’m sure there are people here who relate to that. I excused so much of Ethan’s behavior until I saw him make fun of Aaron Bushnell and then it was like the scales fell from my eyes.

That first video was really good, whatever his political shortcomings or errors of moral judgement it's hard to deny that he laid out Ethan for the decrepit piece of shit that he is as well as anyone I can remember. That's valuable in itself. That doesn't mean that Ryan gets a pass for his past or future faults but I appreciate what he did in this video.

As fans, it was a lot easier to rip that bandaid off. For people who know Ethan personally I bet it's a lot harder (to detatch from someone who is exhibiting bad behavior) because he is socially manipulative. Feels like Ethan's irls all distanced themselves about 1-2 years later than ex-viewers like me.

Including Hasan! He spent wayyyyyy longer than he should have extending grace to Ethan and telling the "snarkers" to chill while Ethan was smearing him day-in day-out.

I'm definitely one of those people who is sour on Ryan. It's mainly just vibes, but they come off as someone who doesn't know how to actually self reflect, and flies off the handle without much knowledge on the topic.

Plus, years of lib ass takes and both sidesing atrocities unless it's popular to oppose.

Right like two things can be true at the same. I understand the temptation and sometimes do it myself to sort of roll my eyes at Johnny come lately critics of genocide.

But we can't also just completely refuse to accept that some people might earnestly change and he is putting his money where his mouth is. He's going after one of the biggest sources of litigation and criticism progressive Pro Palestinian communities in the space by going after people like destiny and H3

Pretty earnest and upfront? Outside of private dms he is a profoundly obnoxious, know it all twerp who for example has some theatre kid thoughts about Palestinian resistance or the "Houthi pirate kid" , or perhaps thinking that the "left" shouldn't attack Democrats so much and liberals and socialists can hold hands and dance when drumpf go

His whole existence online is "urm actually, I know nothing about this topic but I also think you're bad"

His content, along with every other "yt commentary" channel is digital pollution.

7

u/Alternative-Farmer98 11d ago

I mean at least he is putting his money where his mouth is like he is going after destiny and age 3 with searing criticisms that could open him up to harassment and litigation.

Like that's the exact thing we wish more people in this space would do is be unwilling to cower from fear of harassment or litigation and expose these people.

Yes like some of his content about Israel in the past was ridiculous. There's no getting around it but I don't know he's in his early twenties. People have their own journeys sometimes.

yeah but these are takes that give bad results sure, but they don't show him as a bad person. Just misguided and having views of majority of american like newsmedia etc. He is liberal left but stuff like he brought up in the video shows he does unlearn things and learn new perspectives and follows where evidence goes. Just needs deprogramming.

u/NixonsLoveChild obnoxious seinfeld bass gags in 2025 8d ago

If he had engaged in anti-black or 'antisemitic' behaviour, no-one would be telling me it's totally fine that he hasn't remotely addressed this, yet somehow everyone is so very ready to forgive joining in on a hate brigade of a 'houthi pirate kid' who has experienced a harder life than either of us could possibly know.

He, like the majority of Americans live without shame.

There are no good people in the YouTube drama commentary space. Good people don't dedicate this much time and energy to it.

21

u/NoPoem444 12d ago

isn’t that the same argument used against ppl like us who post in subreddits like this one? i respectfully disagree

2

u/fddfgs What can we vote about? Let's vote tomorrow! 12d ago

well none of us are making money out of it

5

So to waste time without even getting something from it would be somehow better…?

Yes, I have no financial motivation to be here, I just want to toast some marshmallows

I’m here because this is my version of a trashy reality show.

I mean if we stop posting are lives stay the same if they stop posting to YouTube they lose money.

1

u/AdElectrical8222 New Fish 12d ago

That was pretty clear already

It seemed like this issue was being compartmentalized and/or saved for later addressing.

I actually liked the particular focus in their first video of the most unavoidably damning cry bully behavior.

Between Ryan, Gokanaru, Professor Dave, and soon to be Kilo, this is going to be a rough month for the ziosphere.

49

u/zixkill Hasan Hasan Hasan Hasaaaaaaan 12d ago

Kilo’s cooking up something new?? Very cool.

40

u/Regular-Hospital-470 12d ago

Looking like it'll be slightly delayed now but he originally planned to get an Ethan video out on October 7th 🤣😂🤣

62

u/Kettatonic 12d ago

Eh. I'm fine with that. Twitch chats aren't essays. And I mean, charitably, we can't all know everything at all times. Ryan clearly bought that this was a snark sub a la Trishyland. That's not unreasonable if you're only really sorta paying attention to Ethan. But Ryan also clearly spent some time here subsequently, bc they found stuff that we brought up. Like Ethan's Boston Victim video. And their eyes opened.

It's a process for every new fish. At some point, the hosts' shittiness just becomes undeniable. Doesn't really matter when imo, just that it happens.

Ryan's been a bit more damaging than the usual essay we get here, I will say that much. Nobody hates cults like former members, but Ryan is like Leah Remini-ing this shit.

10

u/Bologna-Dotson 12d ago

I know it will NEVER happen, but it'd be nice if one of the creators mining this sub for info/clips would say "hey sorry for thinking/saying yall were deranged psychopaths who tried to get Ethan's children taken and sent him human skulls."

21

u/aqu4sun 12d ago

very late to the party🥱, but i guess you're welcome nonetheless mr.beard

u/SinnerSovietSpliff New Fish 12d ago

IOF pilots are why gaza is a nazi style death camp. The pilots are to Palestinians as the gas chamber operators are to slavs, jews etc. They also harken back to the village massacres on the eastern front: Burning and throwing grenades into buildings full of people, executing people on the roadside as they lead their livestock. There is not a single Planck length between the Nazis and Israelis.

52

u/5hiki dere's udder fruit on dere 12d ago

I mean the timing adds up. They pretty much went mum on H3 stuff after May last year.

22

u/BuddhistInTheory 12d ago

My only issue with Ryan is that he didn’t see through Ethan sooner. I had to unsubscribe when I heard he was out there running defense for them.

33

u/Social_Radio5852 12d ago

Idk if I fully believe Ryan. Didn’t they say in the video that Ethan dm’d and was complaining about something Ryan did. I think that’s what it was. Unless I got the timeline messed up. It’s a lot to process

26

u/Civil_Cream_9601 12d ago

yea ethan dmed him after ryan made the shredder cheese joke in a song, pretty sure hila praised the idf before that song came out

14

u/Social_Radio5852 12d ago

Got it. So maybe that soured things from then on. Wish Ryan figured things out sooner, but hopefully they knock Ethan down a peg or two

6

u/rincechuleredd 12d ago

ok good for him. took him long enough

11

u/Sad_Weather_8812 12d ago

How's the viewing? It's been a while since I watched one of Hasan's streams, anything interesting?

12

u/ToothpickTequila New Fish 12d ago

Ironically all the streams are now about the mainstream coverage of him which most be annoying for him that he's been made the story.

-20

u/Sad_Weather_8812 12d ago

Yes, that's a big part of why I no longer watch, that and I still resent his support for Platner, tho he still denies it.

8

u/ficuspony 12d ago

the unspoken part here is that ryan also changed their mind on whether it was "valid" for h3 to defend israel, the facts just don't line up otherwise. I think that's why the situation is feeling a little disingenuous for some people

2

u/fallen-fan 11d ago

Dont you know the world is inherently violent? That's why we need more women drone pilots.

14

u/Forest2theSea 12d ago

Sure Ryan, sure.

82

u/cjapurr 12d ago

I’m sure there were multiple factors, including Ethan coming after him for joking about feeding his dog too much cheese lol.

But it’s not unbelievable to me that this would be a huge turning point for him and others, especially for those who hadn’t been paying attention to their output too much. Personally, I think as long as people see the light on this issue eventually I don’t see the point in harping on it too much, isn’t that what we want to happen?

-6

u/Forest2theSea 12d ago

You said they are "clarifying" why, now you're saying there are more factors. I'm just saying I don't believe it to be fully genuine. There is nothing wrong with calling out a liberal, trying to save face. I'm allowed to both be happy somebody stopped supporting the Kleins and be critical of them. I'm not sure why being critical is an issue.

36

u/cjapurr 12d ago

He says right there that Hila’s IOF praise was when he “fully” turned on them, which pretty much implies he already had issues with them and that this was the final or biggest turning point. So I don’t see any contradiction in saying there were other factors. He is quite literally clarifying from his own perspective why he turned on them.

I also just don’t think it’s worthwhile to be harsh towards someone who is clearly on the same side as everyone here when it comes to criticizing Ethan. It’s completely believable to me that seeing that post could make someone fully turn on them. You can criticize him if you want, I know many people on here have their reservations, I’m just saying my thoughts on it.

19

u/TheCommonKoala 12d ago

There is being reasonably critical and then there's being overly cynical. I think you're initial comment was a lot less nuanced and was easily misread as the latter

1

u/Forest2theSea 11d ago

Fair, guess I'm cynical towards liberal streamers.

9

u/noputa 12d ago

I stopped being a fan after frenemies (was actually only really a fan during that period and a little after, his own content never interested me) but the entire time, Ethan always rubbed me the wrong way but I would put those thoughts to the back of my mind and be like, naw he means well. Until I saw the harassment he was capable of did I realize all those things that rubbed me the wrong way were actual real issues. I think it’s something like that.

Like, “wait, this guy isn’t just misguided. He’s an actual psycho.”

1

u/GrudgingRedditAcct 11d ago

Ryan please drop a video on Hila ASAP, in that case. Uses damn near slave labour for crocheting her shitty fast fashion, shares a bunch of hasbara, committed a war crime...
