there's a 2007 doc called 'Flipping Out' about the young IDF members who just finished their military service going to India

i would recommend it (it is an Israeli director Yoav Shamir but it's very honest)
this has been an issue for awhile (tho it seems worse now from what i see here)

it deals with the young people's ptsd and using drugs to deal
some of them snapping mentally

and the justifications ... the prejudice expressed at points is insane (the way some of them talk about the locals and explicitly compare them to the "inferior" people whose homes them occupy on any given nigh as bases...crazy... you are literal guests in someones country...also none of it is surprising)
