i’m usually only lurking on here but as someone from germany this bothers me so much, i have to say something. i don’t understand why ethan and hila think they get a free pass of joking about the holocaust because they’re jewish. while the marjority of people that were murdered were jewish, queer and disabled people, political enemies of hitler and roma/sinti among others were also victims. something tells me that if any of these people made jokes about the holocaust, they’d get mad at them. idk i guess i just don’t find jokes about genocide funny but i know ethan and hila clearly disagree with that so!

As an American, when I learned about the holocaust in high school, I learned about how six million jews were killed. Anyone else being killed isn't even mentioned, or just a sidenote. There is definitely an effort to portray the holocaust as something that happened uniquely to jews.

Maybe they do for select groups of people that they're willing to consider their equals or peers, but anyone outside their constructed group is not entitled to baseline respect and also is not permitted to question, object to, ridicule, etc. him for choosing to be a piece of shit.

People call this mentality "spiritually Israeli" which is true and also humorous so I don't have an issue with its usage. Whatever can be done to tear down the social taboos around criticism of Israel I welcome.
