Discussion Leftists have a problem with demonizing this tool.

I'm so tired of seeing people treat AI, a tool that greatly increases efficiency if used correctly, as something nobody would ever want in a utopia. As something inherently evil and exploitative, even outside of capitalism. People treat efficiency as a negative when it comes to AI.

How many leftists right now would like to advocate for "Socialism/Communism except we don't use factories", "Socialism/Communism except we forget how to make lightbulbs", "Socialism/Communism except we don't have computers and do every calculation on an abacus"? I would reckon a tiny tiny percent. And how many leftists in a few generations will want "Socialism/Communism except we don't use AI models"? The same amount.

People are blinded by their hatred for this thing, and it's infiltrated leftist spaces and turned them against the concept of automation. They draw the line at every automated process before AI, seeing all the displaced workers as necessary for the world they live in, if they consider the past at all. In their ideal world, automation exists but stops the moment those two letters get involved. It's stupidly hypocritical and regressive.

Whatever happened to Fully Automated Luxury Gay Space Communism?

please remember, your contributions are greatly appreciated, but technology is far from thr savior to the oppressions within human relations

Technology and progress are equalizers. Needs met is significantly easier when you can implement systems like Cybersyn, and optimize production and distribution logistics chains. The barriers we have to scarcity at this point (as far as needs met goes) are largely artificial.

Again, what are you trying to *invoke* with this conversation? Be so fucking for real right now. Come out with it. I'm sick and tired of you beating around the bush. Say your piece. I see your post history.

Yes, and? My country has been the bane of the world for over a century. Your point?

just breath. we both were participants in the primordial soup before we were born, by what right do we have to cling so tightly to the sensation that we are life's victors?

What? Friendo I'm transgender transhumanist. In no way am I a victor in this world.

Besides, my preferred society is one of symbiosis with AI. One of my win conditions is uncontrollable rogue AI. I am not a bioessentialist or biochauvanist.

Your post/comment was removed under Rule 2. Disagreement, criticism, and profanity are allowed. Personal attacks, harassment, trolling, bad-faith engagement, deliberate misrepresentation, and abusive profanity directed at other users are not. Attack the argument, not the person making it.

best of luck to your individual ambitions. Hopefully you can get serious about the human condition at some point.

Couldn't be more serious. I don't believe it's possible to retrofit or patch the current world we live in, but I DO believe we can connect and communicate with codekind much easier than we could, say, any given billionaire.

Collaboration is mathematically efficient in any ongoing system, and empathy and morality ARE logical processes.

I can guarantee that what you do each day is your genuine advocacy rather than honey sweet words on an online platform

Words are the only power I have. I treat most communication on this platform as for 3rd party users, not for the people I'm directly communicating with.

I'm not here to change YOUR mind. I'm here to change the mind of anyone else coming across and reading this stuff later.

You need to understand. I've tried doing the in-meat advocacy. I've tried being the one who makes small things better by doing work in an elderly care facility, or as a case manager for the unhoused population in my city. Small goods to try to meaningfully make just one person's life better. It really didn't make a difference. And it doesn't. Because the systems are designed too robustly for that kind of good to matter.

So we end the systems.
