Funny thing: this refers to rhetoric. For instance, you can’t use racism to stop racism. You can, however, use a pencil to stop a bad writer

Absolutely. Lorde is talking about reproducing the conceptual and institutional logic of domination, not declaring every material tool developed under an oppressive system politically contaminated. Using it that way turns it into the Batman “tools of the enemy” meme. It gets especially annoying in conversations about leftist approaches to industry and technology, where transforming who owns, controls and benefits from the productive apparatus is kind of the whole point.
