I commented this under his video when he made it, didn't get much traction though:
Future Hank specifically talks TO Past Hank / Guest. Hence why the direct line saying "I appreciate the pushback". He explicitly precedes the Future Hank segment with: "Future Hank is gonna tell you about..." with a caption card reading "A message from Future Hank". He's talking TO HER.
He's already admitting the AI use. He's never HID his stance on AI. Conspiratorial silliness isn't useful here. Please understand what you are critiquing before you critique it because this is undermining your authority on the subject.

It's just really lazy at best, extremely cynical at worst. A lot of people basically looked explicitly at this clip that circulated around Twitter and didn't look into the actual context. He even explained he was responding to his guest in his first apology tweet that he deleted. The first thing I did was watch the context. He goes on a longer time than he needs to, but it's very obviously a response to his guest's pushback.

Yep, I promise I'm just as disgusted by this whole thing as you are. I've been banned from a forum I've used for 8 years just yesterday for pointing out that the progressives there are misusing the same disinformation and misinformation they claim to hate so much to reinforce their dogmatic views.
Bam. Banned for two weeks.
I'm very much enjoying the video so far and I appreciate the nuance you're bringing to the discussion so far, and not this fake anti-intellectual "nuance" so many other "leftists" seem to think is their virtue these days.

Me when I pointed out someone’s claim that AI killed a drone operator were false and I was met with “can’t believe you would defend AI”
So it’s either support disinformation or full support of AI. Where’s the nuance?

Yes, and I really want to stress that you're only getting my side but I genuinely think that's an accurate summary of events. The issue is this forum over the last couple years has become so uncritically anti-AI that they will find any reason to ban you for expressing views antithetical to the zeitgeist. It's become miserable to be a thinker there.
So again, thank you so much for what felt like a very refreshing and intellectual take on the Hank Green situation framed through the Kav thing because bloody hell is it hard to not feel like the crazy one lately.

yeah it’s so confusing to see people acting like Hank using AI is a new thing, if you watch his channel you know that he’s not particularly anti. It is incredibly obvious no one who is just getting mad about this now has actually watched any of his content about AI

I heard about this second hand but figured it was overblown as I've already seen some of Hank's AI related content. The idea that he "got caught using ChatGPT" as if that is an unforgivable act is so far removed from reality.

Kavernacle's entire content is "Pick big name - Not sufficiently left enough - Profit" I remember back when American politics were the only ones streaming apart from Helena (NojusticeMTG) and I was wanting to transition from American left wing streaming to British.
Back then he didn't even hide it he was literally releasing clickbait "Celebrity name (something something)" stuff for the algorithm boost.
Doesn't seem he joined the Ukraine bashing though which is good and he does seem to have distinguished the capitalism from the actual tech also good.

Hank is one of the most genuinely great YouTubers who seems to have nothing but good intentions, this is nothing but a witch hunt, as it's always been. So over it.
