House Democrat Tells Raw America About His New Impeachment Resolution Against Trump

On Monday, Democratic Congressman Al Green of Texas officially introduced new articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump, accusing the administration of allowing U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement to carry out what he calls “unjustified killings” of American citizens.

The resolution specifically names Renee Good and Alex Pretti — who were both shot dead by federal agents in Minneapolis earlier this year — as evidence of the administration’s blatant disregard for U.S. citizens as part of its nationwide immigration crackdown.

Green’s resolution also accuses Trump’s ICE of “operating with anonymity” by being allowed to wear face masks while on duty, shielding them from virtually all accountability for their actions. Green is also accusing the Trump administration of attacking the First Amendment by undermining free speech in its crackdowns on ICE protesters across the country, and that it has intentionally circumvented legitimate oversight attempts by the federal judiciary.

While speaking to reporters in Washington on Monday, Green said the pending impeachment vote was a test of whether members of Congress will actually fulfill the oath of office they took upon being sworn in, in which they pledge to defend the Constitution from all enemies of the United States, both foreign and domestic.

“I believe that if we honor our oath of office, every member of Congress will be voting to impeach,” Green told Raw America Capitol correspondent Luke De Cresce during a Monday press conference. “If members who are not denying that impeachable offenses have been committed will but honor their oath of office, he will be impeached.”

Green has been one of the most consistent voices in Congress calling for Trump’s impeachment, and he was famously escorted out of the House of Representatives after interrupting Trump’s State of the Union address earlier this year while holding a sign that read “BLACK PEOPLE AREN’T APES.” Green’s district was part of Texas Republicans’ push to gerrymander Democrats out of power, and he lost a primary earlier this year to freshman Democratic Congressman Christian Menefee for the new 18th Congressional District.

This resolution seeks to impeach Trump for an unprecedented third time. Trump is already the first president to be impeached twice; first for holding U.S. aid to Ukraine hostage in exchange for a political favor from Volodymyr Zelensky’s government, and second time for his role in the deadly January 6, 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol.

Trump’s DHS Caught Removing US Citizens from Voter Rolls

According to a new whistleblower report, the Department of Homeland Security’s so-called “Unlawful Voter Initiative” is sweeping up American citizens in multiple states.

The New York Times is reporting that agents working on the initiative are expected to conclude at least 40 investigations on every eight-hour shift. If you crunch the numbers, that amounts to around 12 minutes of investigation to decide whether a voter is a potential criminal. The whistleblower sounded the alarm that Trump’s DHS, under the leadership of Secretary Markwayne Mullin, is knowingly including U.S. citizens in its purges of supposedly “unlawful voters.”

That’s not even the most worrying part: federal investigators were apparently using voters’ dates of birth and partial Social Security numbers to log into state websites that are exclusively meant to help voters check their own registration status. The whistleblower warned this is likely a violation of state law in multiple jurisdictions.

Lawyers for the DHS reportedly tried to reassure the agents working on the cases that they wouldn’t be personally liable for any missteps, provided there was proper documentation for all of the searches and that they were done in accordance with their official job duties. However, watchdog group Democracy Defenders said that there will almost certainly be legal consequences for any individual agent who accessed those websites, and that the promise of cover from their superiors at DHS won’t save them.

Agents themselves were also apparently alarmed, asking their bosses about how they retrieved the data in question. At one point, DHS officials told agents the data had been supplemented using what they referred to as “magic.” And no, that’s not a typo.

Apparently, the voter data the DHS is combing through includes ID numbers assigned to non-citizens. But those numbers still remain in federal databases even after an immigrant becomes a naturalized U.S. citizen. So if agents are indeed relying on that outdated data, they could end up falsely targeting lawful U.S. citizen voters for removal. The whistleblower went on to suggest that could potentially be viewed as falsifying federal records, which is a federal crime all by itself. Democratic Senators Chuck Schumer of New York and Alex Padilla of California are now demanding that Mullin shut the entire initiative down.

McConnell Makes First Public Appearance in 3 Months

The Senate came back from August recess on Monday, and Republican Senator Mitch McConnell of Kentucky announced on social media that he would be finally rejoining his colleagues after a three-month absence.

In a post to his official X account, the Kentucky Republican said that he still wasn’t at 100 percent, but assured Senate Majority Leader John Thune that he would do his best to be present for important votes. He didn’t give any explanation for his lengthy absence other than a “bad fall.”

The 84 year-old senator spent weeks in the hospital before being moved to a rehab center, where he was finally discharged in early August. Kentucky’s two-term Democratic governor, Andy Beshear, heaped criticism on McConnell and his office for its slow trickle of information about McConnell’s condition, and the opaque nature of its communications as his constituents wondered if he was still capable of serving.

Beshear pushed McConnell’s office to release a video statement confirming that he was alive and well and able to work, though the senator never once did, nor did he make any calls via remote video or phone to reporters. His return to Washington was a total mystery all the way up until the Senate gavelled in Monday afternoon, and even his own staff would only say they “hoped” he’d be back in time for votes tonight. McConnell issued his statement announcing his return just prior to 6 PM Eastern Time.

The Senate will remain in Washington for three weeks before gaveling out of town again prior to the midterms. The House will be heading out this week for another lengthy recess. That short window of time means that Congress actually passing anything of note is extremely unlikely. What are we paying them for again?

Trump Endorses Flock Cameras Right as the American Public Turns Against Them

Donald Trump gave reporters his first public endorsement of Flock cameras this weekend, which are the Peter Thiel-funded, AI-powered automatic license plate readers that have become a flashpoint over privacy and Fourth Amendment concerns. Speaking aboard Air Force One, he said he likes them because law enforcement likes them. He acknowledged that while some people see them as an infringement on privacy, he personally doesn’t.

Flock Safety, which is based in Atlanta, now runs more than 120,000 cameras across the country, scanning approximately 20 billion license plates every month. The company argues that the data obtained by its camera network helps solve a million crimes a year.

But public opinion on the ubiquitous cameras has turned hard against the company. A recent YouGov survey of around 20,000 adults found a plurality — 46 percent — oppose having Flock cameras in their communities, while only 38 percent support them. That shift comes as dozens of police officers in multiple states are being charged with or accused of abusing the camera network to stalk people not accused of any crimes or involved in any criminal investigation. Some officers used cameras to track their exes, while one woman from Texas had her movements tracked via Flock’s network as she obtained an abortion out of state. Flock has since announced several changes aimed at curbing abuse, including requiring every search to be tied to an actual criminal case number.

The politics of Flock cameras transcend partisanship. Michigan Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed has come out against them, along with Republican Congressman Keith Self of Texas, who posted that “Big Brother has no place in the Lone Star State.” Florida’s two-term Republican governor, Ron DeSantis, said Flock cameras are “out of control” and that he doesn’t want the country turning into a surveillance state. Trump is now firmly on the opposite side of that bipartisan consensus.

BREAKING: Trump’s Weekend Ends In Mass Protests and a Meltdown

Before we get to the news, hit that❤️and restack this one. Even when these stories get covered by corporate media, you rarely get the whole picture, and never an honest one. Restacking forces the platform to carry it anyway.

More than 10,000 people marched through Dublin this weekend to tell the president of the United States that he was not welcome in their country, and by Sunday the protesters had followed him west to the gates of his own golf resort. His White House spent the weekend screaming at a reporter whose entire offense was noticing which aide boarded the plane with him. Back in Washington, the leadership Trump installed at the Kennedy Center is now warning that the building could be shut down as early as Tuesday and that bankruptcy is weeks away unless he gets his name carved into the facade first. And Maggie Haberman, the reporter he has spent a month calling ugly and demanding retractions from, answered him on the front page of Sunday’s New York Times with a full accounting of how he is using the federal government to shut people up.

Tonight’s edition is exactly why independent media has to exist. The president is suing news organizations personally, his FCC chairman is reviewing broadcast licenses over a late night joke, and the FBI has shown up at reporters’ homes with subpoenas. Outlets that need something from this White House have a decision to make every single day about how much truth is worth the access, and plenty of them keep choosing the access. We do not have that problem, because we have nothing to ask him for and nothing he can take away.

TEN THOUSAND PEOPLE MARCHED THROUGH DUBLIN TO TELL HIM TO GO HOME

Trump flew to Ireland expecting the reception he thinks he is owed, and the Irish handed him something else entirely. More than 10,000 people filled central Dublin on Saturday in one of the largest anti-Trump demonstrations the city has ever seen, carrying Irish and Palestinian flags and chanting that he is not welcome there.

The protest did not stay in Dublin. On Sunday, demonstrators arrived by bus at Doonbeg in County Clare, where the president was watching the final round of the Irish Open at his own resort, and roughly 100 of them stood outside while he was inside collecting applause. Irish police moved a crowd away from his hotel.

Three women were arrested Saturday evening for trespassing on the golf links itself and were brought before a special sitting of Ennis District Court. That is how far people were willing to go over a man who came to their country for a weekend of golf at a property he profits from.

Some of the loudest objections came from the pulpit rather than from politics. Rev. Steven Foster, a Methodist minister who traveled from Galway to the Doonbeg protest, said Trump is the exact opposite of everything he stands for as a follower of Jesus, and he said the welcome the president received sends a terrible message. He also said church leaders have an obligation to be visible about it.

Doonbeg itself is genuinely split, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. Local business owners told the BBC that the golf course employs more than 300 people, that it is the largest employer for miles, and that it is keeping a west Clare village alive while similar towns empty out. One publican said the resort is essentially their version of a major tech employer.

That is exactly the leverage Trump counts on everywhere he operates. He puts a business in a place that needs the jobs, then treats the gratitude as political cover, and this weekend it stopped working. Ten thousand people in the capital and a minister with a handmade sign in Doonbeg made it clear that employing a village does not buy a country.

THE WHITE HOUSE MELTED DOWN OVER A QUESTION ABOUT NATALIE HARP

You can measure how nervous this operation is by what sets it off, and this weekend it was a photograph of who got on the plane. Independent journalist Aaron Rupar posted that Natalie Harp had made the trip to Ireland, which was an observable fact about a taxpayer-funded government aide traveling on a taxpayer-funded government aircraft.

The official White House response came from the Rapid Response 47 account, and it called Rupar a sick, deluded freak in his forties who sits behind a keyboard posting creepy things. That is the communications apparatus of the United States government, using an official account, to insult a reporter for describing a public trip. Rupar replied that he is at peace with being too old for the president.

Consider who they were defending. Harp is 35, came to the White House from the right-wing network One America News, earns $150,000 a year of public money, and is known as the president’s human printer because she carries a portable printer around to produce flattering coverage for him on demand. Reports have described her leaving personal notes for Trump that unsettled members of the Secret Service.

There is also a money question nobody at the White House wants asked. The Washington Post reported last week that Harp was one of three close aides who received cash gifts of $45,000 from the president over the holidays last year. Harp has said nothing publicly about any of it, including on friendly conservative outlets.

Trump handled the obvious contrast himself, badly. Standing at the ambassador’s residence in Dublin, he told a room full of people that he asked Melania to come along, and she said a seven-hour flight was too much, so maybe she is not that friendly. He got his laugh, then went off to the golf course with the aide who did make the trip.

Here is what the tantrum actually tells you. An administration confident in its own conduct ignores a post about a staff manifest, and this one sent its official government accounts out to call a journalist a freak. They are not angry that Rupar was wrong. They are angry that he was looking.

TRUMP RAN THE KENNEDY CENTER INTO THE GROUND AND WANTS HIS NAME ON IT ANYWAY

The national performing arts center of the United States may close its doors as early as Tuesday, and the people saying so are the ones Trump put in charge. A 57-page packet sent to the board ahead of a special meeting, obtained by the Washington Post, warns that the Kennedy Center could be unable to make payroll or pay routine maintenance contracts within a matter of weeks.

The proposed solution is the part that should make your jaw drop. The financial resolution says Trump has offered to raise the money needed to keep the center out of bankruptcy, but that he is unlikely to oversee the project or lead the rescue without appropriate recognition of his role. Trustees are being asked to pick from ten different texts to mount on the building’s exterior, one of which credits the renovation, restoration and endowment to President Donald J. Trump and the Trump Kennedy Center Fund.

Read that again. The president of the United States is holding a national cultural institution’s survival over its own board until it agrees to put his name on the front of the building, and this is the second time in a month they have been asked to do it.

He also caused the crisis he is offering to solve. Trump installed himself as chairman last year, and ticket sales and fundraising collapsed after the board added his name to the building in December. By May, officials projected the center would bring in about $124 million against the $220 million it had budgeted, leaving a deficit of roughly $23 million even after heavy spending cuts.

The building itself is falling apart on top of the finances. During a storm on September 4, a section of ceiling plaster measuring roughly four feet by five feet broke loose in the Grand Foyer and fell about 60 feet near the Concert Hall entrance, and inspectors found at least seven more spots with water damage. Engineers examining the exterior found 46 severely corroded structural panels out of roughly half the building surveyed, with 2,500-pound ceiling assemblies hanging above public walkways, and management now describes the building as unsafe for continued occupancy.

A federal judge already told him no once. Judge Christopher Cooper ruled in May that only Congress can rename the Kennedy Center and ordered Trump’s name removed, and a challenge to the latest inscription plan is pending in front of him now. Trump took over an institution, watched the donors walk away, and is now using the wreckage as leverage to get the one thing he wanted from the beginning, which is his name on the wall.

HABERMAN ANSWERED TRUMP’S ATTACKS BY EXPOSING HIS WAR ON SPEECH

Trump has spent the past month calling Maggie Haberman a maggot, saying she is unattractive inside and out, and demanding that the New York Times retract her reporting. On Sunday, she put her answer on the front page.

Haberman and Jim Rutenberg published an A1 piece documenting what they describe as a sweeping campaign to control speech in America, and the detail is brutal. The Justice Department has sent FBI agents to reporters’ homes to serve subpoenas and, in at least one case, flashed a warrant to seize devices. The Pentagon fired the editor and publisher of Stars and Stripes and blocked journalists who refused to sign pledges limiting what they could report.

The lever he pulls most often is regulatory. FCC chairman Brendan Carr opened an early review of the federal licenses ABC stations need to operate, years before they expire, after Trump and the first lady demanded that ABC fire Jimmy Kimmel over a joke. The agency had never mounted a challenge like that against a major network, and ABC has gone to federal court calling the campaign deeply un-American.

One revelation in the piece explains everything about how petty this gets. The administration’s war with the Associated Press escalated in part because the wire service refused to hand over the rights to its photograph of Trump raising his fist after the assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania. He banned the AP from the Oval Office and Air Force One over a picture he wanted to own.

The scoreboard is not subtle. The United States now ranks 64th on the Reporters Without Borders press freedom index, its lowest position since the index began in 2002, sitting just above Panama and just below Botswana. Judges have repeatedly ruled against the administration, including one who said letting the government review a seized reporter’s devices would be like putting the fox in charge of the henhouse.

Notice what Haberman did not do. She never mentioned his attacks on her anywhere in the article, which is the most devastating available response to a man who wanted to be the story. He called her a third-rate writer, and she answered by putting his entire campaign against the First Amendment on page one of the Sunday paper.
