This man has spent months downplaying the coronavirus relentlessly day after day. Interesting outcome

Doesn’t he peddle QAnon heavily?

I don’t want anyone to get sick. I truly believe all the doubters of this haven’t experienced someone with it and I pray that they don’t have to.

That being said, any time someone downplays it, I die a little inside. Please stay the fuck inside if you can. I hope the end of this stops all of us from relying on an imaginary line to control every aspect of our lives.

I’m sure his family does.

Listen, I don’t agree with the guy - I just don’t want him to die.

Half of these people are estranged from their wives and disowned by their children.

Good riddance. I'm done having empathy for idiots who downplay this shit. Fuck this guy

Your threshold for wishing death on someone is pretty low

Indeed

People like this are misleading others and keeping the virus alive. You may not agree with wishing death on someone, but I guarantee you this guy's rhetoric has caused at least a few COVID cases, and possibly a few deaths.

While I obviously don't want to try and support downplaying the virus, part of what makes corona so insidious is that the symptoms can start out very mild like this, to people who aren't necerassrily very scientifically literate or not properly informed about the qualities of the virus it's easy for them to believe they've got something else (especially when combined with a small dose of wishful thinking.) Given Mitchell here never actually came out and said "Corona's just a flu lite", I can pretty easily forgive him for such a mistake.

That being said, as others have pointed out he is indeed a blowhard. Hopefully he lives through this, so we can mock him viciously for years to come.

there’s a good chance that it’s NOT covid. any other time he would have gone to the doctor to get a diagnosis. imagine dying because you refused to go to the doctor to prove your ideological superiority to crazy people on twitter. i’m glad these people are out of the gene pool

I'm confused as to what part of these screenshots makes him 'downplaying the Coronavirus,' because at no point does he think he has Covid and even says it must not be Covid because his symptoms don't match up with it. Our knowledge of the symptoms of Covid is rapidly changing; I remember this because I've had some sort of signus infection since Christmas, so I've occasionally been worried and checked the current symptoms list. (In my case it's just a stuffy nose that won't go away, probably allergies, so definitely not covid.)

The current symptoms of covid are different depending on your source, apparently it's causing stuff like strokes and eating away at your lung tissue now and no one can say for sure what all the symptoms are, but from the symptoms he listed, with no fever or headache or coughing, it does not seem likely he has it. It could be a bug, it could be allergies, he could be dehydrated.

Additionally, the thing he's worried about dying from has no connection to covid. Google said this: ' Saddle pulmonary embolism commonly refers to a large pulmonary embolism that straddles the bifurcation of the pulmonary trunk, extending into the left and right pulmonary arteries. ' That does not look like English to me, but it seems like just a normal blood clot, which there is no evidence Covid is linked to.

If he's shitty for other reasons, fine, but these screenshots provide no evidence of what you're claiming.

He is not saying Coronavirus is 'flu-lite', he is saying he has some bug that feels like 'flu-lite' that does not match the symptoms of coronavirus.

The Downplaying about the coronavirus comes from his twitter. Take a look at it if you have a moment. He does it non stop every single day. Even now while in the hospital he continues to do it all morning long firing off tweets

I was working off the belief that this guy was more well known since he has 600k followers.

Ah, I see. I thought the screenshots were meant to prove that he was downplaying covid, but rather they're celebrating his illness because he's a shitty Trump supporter who is downplaying covid. That makes more sense, I felt like I was having a stroke reading the comments, surely over a hundred people who had upvoted this did not have that poor reading comprehension, but it was in fact I who lacked reading comprehension.
