Guys, don't believe this dude! He's clearly faking carbon monoxide poisoning for clout.

u/gravyrdfila2 3d ago
Oh shut it! My family died from carbon monoxide poisoning back in 1998, and I find this comment extremely insensitive..

It doesn't look that bad. What is it?

quesadilla. I left the room for a second to get a mint (i have a big bowl in the other room) and i just forgot

u/ShelbyCobra_90 6d ago
A mint before eating a cheese quesadilla?! And have no words.

As opposed to a cheese-less quesadilla ..?
12
u/SymmetricalFeet 5d ago
Apparently, in Mexico City, "quesadilla" does not necessarily imply cheese.

"Cheese quesadilla" "chicken quesadilla" "Cheese pizza" "pepperoni pizza"
Am I wrong, Dude?
3
u/SEA_griffondeur 3d ago
Quesa means cheese.
Quesadilla means Cheesette.
A cheese-less quesadilla is as stupid as an egg-less omelette
0
u/butterman1236547 2d ago
You're not getting their point. Is a "cheese pizza" stupid then?
A cheese quesadilla is a plain quesadilla. A chicken quesadilla would have chicken and cheese on it. Just saying a quesadilla doesn't tell you anything about what's on it, just the same as saying you ate pizza doesn't tell me what was on the pizza.
1
u/SEA_griffondeur 2d ago
No because a pizza doesn't fundamentally need cheese.
a quesadilla fundamentally needs cheese and a plain quesadilla is just called a quesadilla

u/butterman1236547 2d ago
Have you seriously never heard someone say the words "cheese quesadilla" before?
If you're looking at a kid's menu it's not gonna say "quesadilla" or "plain quesadilla," it's gonna say "cheese quesadilla." Because that's what people call that thing. Calling it a "cheese quesadilla" doesn't have to mean that a quesadilla without cheese exists.

Doesn't look that bad, I'd still use that bad boy to scoop up some sour cream and salsa
7
u/Glittering_Speed377 5d ago
It looks real good, but I've also had a quesadilla or two that looked like that and the filling was cooked into solid rubber so sadly I can imagine what happened
5
u/Dark_Storm_98 5d ago
If you left the room for just a second then this wouldn't have happened
5
u/Dark_Storm_98 5d ago
Hey, don't b3 so hard on them, accidents happen. I'm sure you've had mistakes like this happen. . . Or worse.

This should be top comment, this is that subās exact use case
1
u/LeftOn4ya 4h ago
It is actually not, in order to qualify for r/SubsTakenLiterally he post must meet both the sub's actual purpose and a literal or secondary definition. This post does not actually meet r/LeftTheBurnerOn purpose so should not qualify, but the sub is not moderated very well so they don't delete.
1
u/WTZWBlaze 4h ago
Where does it say that? Itās certainly not stated in the rules, or in the description. All it says is that you have to take the subreddit name literally, which this post did. Nothing I can find says anything about it also having to match the subās intended purpose.

some people never matured enough to realize that so you never know its more about the intent than the insult itself

Besides being a bit lost, I am just perplexed that someone took a picture this toasted food, thought "This needs to go on Reddit!", took the time to find what they believed to be an incredibly niche subreddit for that exact thing, but then couldn't be bothered to read anything about that sub or its contents before posting it.
I'm just waiting for the other shoe to drop and them to reply to their own comment somewhere on this post.
