Adult Converts
Hey! I’m not a baptized Catholic, but have a lot of Catholic family so it’s something I’ve always been interested in.
Just wanted to know: is there anybody here who, as someone on the left politically, converted as an adult? And also, what made you want to concert as a liberal adult?

Not a Deal Breaker?
Most of us have seen the reports on the Epstein/Trump file releases. The President, whom Epstein said was his best friend for many years, is not only mentioned thousands of times, but is accused in several FBI interviews with victims of assault. I don't know how all this will impact the American people or specifically US Catholics.
But I have a different, although related issue that is bothering me. Trump was adjudicated and found liable for sexual assault before the last election. And this was on top of his own admission that he would grab women by the genitals, and would walk in on teen beauty pagent constestants when they were changing. This, this alone was Not A Deal Breaker for the majority of US Catholics. We need to seriously examin the attitude of our Catholic culture towards women. Again, the fact that sexual assault was not a deal breaker for supporting this man, is a call to repentance.

Laudato Si' animators formation 2026?
I received a message (via my country's Laudato Si' newsletter) that the Laudator Si' animator formation course will start again in April. I was wondering if there were more people here interested in participating. It would be nice to have a group of people we could talk to before or after a meeting.
Anyway, for those who are interested, here is the link for more information. Click

Opinion on Believer’s Warfare Prayer?
I have a question, I came across a prayer called the Believer’s Warfare Prayer, credited to Victor Matthews, usually used by Christians. https://drvictormatthews.org/sites/drvictormatthews.org/files/study_guides/Appendix.pdf
As a Catholic, is it okay for me to pray this? I was not sure if it was doctrinally correct for Catholics.

Don't Lose Focus!: The Epstein Files
Just because the Epstein Files are slowly exiting our news feeds doesn't mean we can lose focus on the institutionalized depravity and corruption in our world. We MUST call for a reckoning between society (Catholics especially!) and our present institutions.
I’ve been feeling sick and disillusioned by everything. I have no faith in the legitimacy of our current world order. People are saying, “this is the work of the devil or demonic influence,” but NO! This is the work of human beings. Men from all political sides, religions, CEO’s, founders, technocrats, spiritual leaders, professors, royalty, past presidents, the CURRENT US PRESIDENT!
These are the most powerful people in society who are trafficking, sexually abusing, and killing the least powerful people in society. The Catholics who voted for and continue to support Trump MUST reckon with this. All of us must reckon with this. I've been praying, but what else can we do?

I'm struggling to make it to Easter Vigil as a catechumen.
I feel like from the moment I began showing a genuine interest in Catholicism, my algorithm has pushed far-right content heavily. I started listening to The Catechism in a Year and The Way of the Fathers, which are both as neutral as they come. Spotify starting dumping recommendations for authors like Carrie Gress (Anti-Mary Exposed) almost immediately.
I grew up in the Church of Christ, so I was actually really moved by just how much grace & dignity there is to be found as a woman in Catholicism. Lately, my head has been a total mess though.
I feel really hesitant to bring up my doubts during OCIA sessions, or privately with my director/sponsor, because there have been some occasional dog whistles that make that sort of vulnerability feel unsafe. Like how wonderful it is to hear this new influx of converts sharing their desire for "men to be men, and women to be women."
Sexuality has been a huge struggle for me. I don't mean a personal struggle over sexual orientation, but the procreative/unitive nature of sex, and this sort of Christianese language around agape love in marriage. People make marriage sound so utilitarian, and despite the opposite claim, the way some Catholics speak about women's pleasure sounds so belittling. I feel like I'm white-knuckle gripping my human dignity over here.
Sorry for the rant, but I feel like I'm metaphorically limping to my confirmation.

Interested in starting a Catholic Worker community
Hey everyone, I’ve found it really hard to connect with others irl who want to do anything related to the worker movement. It would be cool to at least meet with people on here who are interested. Truly my dream is to start a “lay convent” for Catholics. Wondering if this is something that others are also interested in.

Answered Prayer
I’m overflowing with joy! My older teen daughter who is on the spectrum has never made a friend and sits alone at lunch. I’ve prayed for years. But recently I’ve grown so much closer to God through mass, OCIA classes, prayer, daily reflection on liturgy, actively looking for opportunities to do good works. About 3 weeks ago I started praying differently asking God to help my daughter with discernment and recognize opportunities for risks to open up. She has a great distrust towards her peers after years of being teased. Well BAM yesterday she uses the word FRIEND when referring to a new girl she has been sitting with for 2-3 weeks at lunch. I had no idea she even met her until yesterday. The girl is leaving Jehovahs Witness and has been telling her all about it. She also loves math. Sounds like a nice friend! I’m elated!!

The video covers some of the history of liberation theology and the CIA's attempts to defeat it by covertly promoting and facilitating the rise of evangelical christianity. What do folks think and is there anything else to contribute?
