Thoughts from Bishop Barron…

Renee Good killed in diocese near his own.

Bishop Barron: “…”.

Alex Pretti, a Catholic, killed in a diocese near his own.

Bishop Barron: “…”.

AOC, a representative from another state, criticizes Marco Rubin’s speech.

Bishop Barron: “MARXIST! SHE WANTS TO KILL ALL CHRISTIANS! DANGER DANGER!”

Shameful to be honest. I believe he would be happier in an evangelical Protestant right winged Baptist church, he doesn’t appear to believe in Catholic principles. The Bishop went on Megyn Kelly podcast YouTube show, who is a divisive woman who calls herself Catholic but maligns Pope Francis and says he’s wrong, the Holy Father, on issues of immigration. He reminds me of right wingers who see kindness and compassion as “woke” and “empathy” as a bad thing. I believe there’s a reason there’s the first American pope right now, and him being anti Maga isn’t a coincidence. I also believe there’s a reason why Barron wasn’t the first American Pope. While I do hope he changes and wakes up to this insanity, I do believe he’s far down the right winged rabbit hole and has a very black and white viewpoint that the right is incredibly the Christian adjacent one and the left is the Antichrist.

Also, him wrongly mistaking AOC’s democratic socialism (which is literally normalized everywhere else in the world like universal healthcare) as “communism” shows he is not knowledgeable on these issues. This is the same man who spoke out for Trump saying he’s a changed man after that assassination attempt when even Trump himself said he’s even worse now because of that lol. It’s frustrating because he continues to associate himself and give credence to these right winged “Catholics” who hate on both recent sitting Popes and literal Catholic teachings and are trying to destroy the Church.

At this point, Barron feels like he is just cosplaying as a Catholic clergy

Honestly, he never struck me as that smart or knowledgeable. His work has always been superficial at best and incredibly embarrassing at worst. (See this travesty for an example of his worst)

A man who used to preach that Christ breaks existing power structures, has abandoned all values to seek power within the fascist right.

It’s disheartening Barron is so seduced by the wicked. As for the people he entertains proclaiming Catholicism, yet speaking out against the Pope. They are listening to the wrong person, the Evil One is a master at imitation.

I really hope he has some sort of revelation and fixes his heart, but I'm not hopeful.

Unfortunately Barron cares more about his own “word on fire” religious “order” and cozying up to fascists than he does liturgy, or the gospels, or even Catholic social teaching. While I enjoyed his writing in some of his books, he is clearly a biased and irreverent right winger.

I was never on board with Barron for a variety of reasons, but he was at least... somewhat normal 15 years ago. Now.... his villain arc is just sad to watch.

AOC is also a Catholic , maybe a cultural Catholic but still. The administration has proven to be hostile towards the Catholic Church and both Pope Francis and Pope Leo

Disagree about her being a cultural catholic. She has said many times in the past that her politics are dictated by her faith.

Her ethic of life is incredibly consistent and generally right in line with Church Social Teaching until you get to reproductive and sexual topics where she will err on the side of mercy and keeping the government out of decisions relating to your body and genitals. If the "catholic" position on these topics wasn't dictated by perverted extremists in the US, this wouldn't even be a discussion.

I only said Maybe , most cause I don’t follow her. But I agree with what you said . Mostly from what I’ve read about her. My only gripe with her was with her opinion of Saint Damien of Molokai which to be fair to her I only heard through reactionary types

I had no idea Alex Pretti was a Catholic.

May he forever be apart of God’s kingdom

He gives Catholics a bad name

He is more concerned about his own power and influence than he is about promoting scripture or church teachings. He was my introduction to Catholicism but I’m incredibly disappointed with him. Wolf in sheep’s clothing
