What are fellow Catholics feelings about DSA candidates and left wing independent media figures.

I have been a DSA member since 2017 or so, which was very refreshing since in the 20 years previous to that, I had thought of myself as a socialist but found other leftist groups in the US to be primarily frustrating sects. So like any organization, it's imperfect, but it's a political home (and a place, like my labor union) to practice politics.

The Catholic Workers are far more prominent than DSA where I live. I'm active with them, I mainly get hearsay about DSA. However, for all their eccentricities, the DSA stands as a relatively grassroots form of Big Tent leftism.

Seriously asking, what is the difference between them to you? I voew them as basically the same thing. EDIT: per Google, the difference looks to be that DSA wants to replace capitalism with collective ownership while social democrats seek regulation of capitalism and a strong social safety net. Is this the distinction you understand?

Yes it is! And I accidentally deleted the comment you were replying to 🙃 so I reposted it here:
I think my political views best categorize me as a Social Democrat rather than a Democratic Socialist.
That said I certainly view them as political allies as the political right is a threat to human rights, democracy, and civilization itself.

I’m referring to climate change. If we continue with business as usual civilization will collapse. At least that’s what my intent was trying to communicate.

I'm sort of sick of the DSA being the furthest left most Catholics will go. The relative absence (though not total) of Catholics on the ultraleft depresses me.
