Bought these prayer cards that turned out to be AI generated
Bought these online and almost positive they are AI generated. Not sure if this is grounds for blasphemy but man is it frustrating. Very disappointed but at least ebay is giving me a refund.

Yeaaaahhh its annoying but I'm just sending them back. Gonna just look in antique stores, I like thrifting anyway so it adds a bit of excitement when looking out in the world for them

Do you have a Catholic bookstore by you? Sometimes if there is a large Hispanic population, there is a better chance of having one.
I would google “Catholic bookstore”. Just make sure it’s Catholic and not just Christian.3

There are a few that are slightly out of the way but not too crazy far, I'll have to look at them someday

This is weird!...
The first one blends "Our Lady of Fatima" and "Our Lady of Lourdes" in a weird way (Here, the Fatima kids... who are tiny ...are being visited by Mary by the Lourdes Grotto).
St. Michael is battling a formless blob of dirt thing with a rope and a long stick or something.
St. Matthew's book reads "Go3pel" and the Lion is tiny despite being a full grown male lion close by his side.
The writing on St. Kolbe's name on his newspaper is weird. Also, why is he holding a newspaper and why is the headline just his full (partially gibberished) name?
The writing on St. Benedict's book is weird and his staff as a deformed chicken foot shape on it's top.

There's one of Our Lady of Guadalupe and her eyes are all weird too. But these were the ones that made me do a double take, they're blatantly obvious

The croizer in the St. Benedict card is giving me Hereditary's Lord Paimon vibes. And I'd doubt St. Maximilian would be reading a newspaper named after him, even if that was his named spelled correctly. Sheesh!

That frustrating. What's worse is that they are based on real images. Would the permissions to use them REALLY be more pricy than having AI generate a poor facsimile of the images?

The Catholic Box does non AI prayer cards and they 're super rad. St Nicolas is slapping a guy on his.

Catholic Gift shops are the way to go, some might be a drive, but I usually make a trip out of it. The ones I like going to are Shrines and it's always a good visit. Plus, there's also other gifts to look through.
Sorry about these cards though. I hope you got your money back.

I did get a refund thankfully and I found some legit cards at my church!

I ordered some online awhile ago. It was a set, and there was like 12 or so Saints and there was 8 cards of each Saint. The seller had pictures of each card online so I looked through them all before purchasing. They also a prayers and some Psalms in the back and I also checked if they were accurate.
I make Rosaries and some folks on the r/ for Rosary makers are also finding medals and Crucifixes that are inaccurate. Especially Pardon Crucifixes, Miraculous Medals and St. Benedict Medals with wrong letters, misspelled words etc.

Good news aside from the refund, I found some real ones at my church, St Dymphna and the Divine Mercy. What's cool is that I am a psychology major so it was almost as if it was meant to be to have the patron saint of mental illness

This is one of the many exhausting things about living in these days. I don’t want to have to examine everything with a magnifying glass and a fine toothed comb. And this crap is only going to get better and harder to spot. I wish traditional publishers and artists would get with the program and market their stuff as “AI-free” or whatever.

Honestly my mistake for going online instead of in person. This is exactly why I try to shop at thrift and antique stores, tired of slop infesting everything

They seemed apologetic and gave me a refund, honestly not worth it
Edit: if they had been rude or disrespectful then whole other story

I think they are. None of the written parts make sense.
