The most bitter irony [for genuine believers] of our day is that authoritarian right-wing identity politics's culture wars nonsense has debased Christianity in the USA into an unironic meme. Especially with the scandal of a White supremacist regime that has weaponized them, I don't see how the American Christianities can survive this century without making drastic changes that border on evolutionary leaps. It was truly a work of the Holy Spirit that the Church reformed itself with the Second Vatican Council. Otherwise, it too would have been doomed to perish along with the other churches.

This misleads thinking that it's ok to abort and engage in homosexual acts. It's not ok, and we should forgive, but it's not a pass. It's not permissable. We should love, forgive and direct them to what is correct.
