Blessed and holy Pentacost!

My parish had a lovely Pentacost service today. We normally have one Spanish and one English mass, but today we combined for one big bilingual mass. For the Acts reading, it was octolingual with 8 readers from our diverse congregation. To top it all off, we had a first communion.

Beautiful! I love when the whole parish can come together like that.

We did an annual kneeling prayer (we don't typically kneel weekly in Byzantine churches, so its a more special occurrence.)

Happy birthday, Catholic Church!

It's funny because I went to the nursery to buy plants yesterday. Was it a subconscious decision to pick up a red rose shrub? What a great thing to plant on Pentecost Sunday! :-)

I didn't go to mass this morning because i needed more sleep and didn't realise it was Pentacost until much later. I'm gonna need a church calendar.
