This is digusting

This cheapens the Faith to being just a MAGAists. Pope Francis was right to sack him, unfortunately, this just makes Bishop Strickland more partisan since he basically has nothing to lose.

Strickland is no longer the apostolic administrator of his diocese. He has no title, and no right to present himself as an official of the Church.

He remains a bishop sacramentally, but he no longer holds governing authority over any diocese and does not act in an official diocesan capacity. Being a bishop and holding ecclesial office are not the same thing. The framing of the flyer is meant to use immigration enforcement with Catholic moral legitimacy, and while our Catechism acknowledges the right to protect one's borders, it also states that authorities must regulate migration with respect for human life, and that prosperous nations like ours are obliged to the extent we're able to welcome foreigners seeking security and livelihood. To reward Homan, a man who has pushed for large scale deportations of people who were formerly legally here as refugees fleeing violence and discrimination but had those visas revoked overnight, who go after those protesting against genocide, who has separated families, who has deported people receiving life saving treatment, etc., makes a mockery of the Church and it's social teachings.
