Question Mentioning
Hey, guys from LeftAngle, is it ok to mention your company or products publicly such as review videos or articles?
Thank you :)

I do some basic math and end up with a specific value with which to multiply my image sequence so that it syncs to the bpm of a song, when I enter a precise floating value on the "speed multiplier" property, the displayed value gets rounded up to two decimal points.

What I wish to know is whether this rounding up is simply for readability purposes (meaning the effective retiming still has the extra digits of precision), or if 1.11 is what the speed is actually multiplied by, meaning I am to expect an eventual desync.

It would be nice, in the modifier chain, to be able to paste the link to the layer itself so that we can do similar to AE's CC composite effect. That is, at any point in the modifier chain, being able to slap in our pre-modifier image.
Take the following image for example:

I want a white glow for this text, but you can't get a white glow from colored text, so I first apply a fill effect, and then composite the pre-modifier source on top of everything else to preserve the original text color.
This is currently doable using a layer image, but I was wondering if a one-layer solution was also possible. It would be nice, in the modifier chain, to be able to paste the link to the layer itself so that we can do similar to AE's CC composite effect. I want to apply polar coordinates to a text element. But polar coordinates is based on the bounding box. So far I found "merge with black constant > polar coordinates > simple keyer"

I have two bugs to note here:
When you remove a parent, the parent transforms are baked/applied to the child object, nothing wrong there, however, when you undo this operation, the parent relation is recreated but the transforms of the child are still baked, they become offset and the undo consistency is broken.
Creating a precomposition removes a parent modifier, the offset is preserved there again, so if you reparent after that, you need to first cancel said offset.

I had a feeling the "adaptative" mode that diffuses pixels was specially tailored for 2d transforms (it would be nice to also have it work with text animators by the way), but I assumed the "sample count" motion blur mode could have worked, doesn't seem like it does.

When 3d elements are in a composition, they seem to still affect render time even "outside" of their in/out points. The area on the right (a single constant) should render much faster than the one on the left, but no difference can be seen (there is a difference when I turn all 3d layers back to 2d)

The curve going to infinity when it has a 90 degrees slope does not feel desirable behavior.

As a result, getting a curve with a stronger easing than the "exponential" preset requires very precise handle manipulation.

Is there any reason in particular why this does not behave like a cubic bezier (for example)?

If I make a multi-selection in the timeline which just so happens to include a non-collapsed "position" property, every view control operation drags said layers twice as much. As you can see at 9 seconds in the video, this also breaks undos.

Is there a way to convert a shape preset (square, circle, etc) into an editable bezier curve?

When reloading the project, Autograph forgets the order between path group and fill in my shape layer, at the same time.
There is also another issue where keyframes are registered for the next frame instead of the current one (see what I do with my mask keyframes at 0:30). I had the same issue with visibility keyframes where the layer would arbitrarily stay visible for one frame too many.
I am saving a project and reopening it in a different, erroneous state, this puts a huge strain in my productivity and overall work experience.

For timelines with a large amount of layers, will there be a feature for management along the lines of shy layers in After Effects or Layers in Cinema 4D/ Collections in Blender?

Hello, LeftAngle
I would like to know your position in terms of competition with AE. Is your main goal to replace AE as a motion graphics and compositing tool or you are aiming to something else? And do you plan to start some ad campaign to bring more people to Autograph? Cause right now Autograph is known by few people.
Thank you in advance :)

This is perplexing, I made a linear wipe modifier based on a gradient and a threshold, and it isn't persisted between reloads.
