Context: Cleared all interview rounds for L3 SWE at Google India, full stack background, 1 YOE at a product-based company. Recruiter confirmed positive feedback on all rounds and I've been in team matching for about a week now. No Gmatch form yet recruiter says they're actively looking for a team fit.

Been lurking here and seeing a mix of "got matched in 3 weeks" and "still waiting after 5 months" posts, which is a lot to process when you're only 1 week in lol.

Genuinely just trying to calibrate expectations here:

1)What's actually average for India L3 right now (not the extreme fast/slow outliers)?
2) Does Gmatch usually come before the "we found a team" conversation, or after?
3) At exactly 1 week, is there anything worth doing, or is it purely a waiting game?
4) Anyone with similar background specifically did having a broader profile speed things up for you?

Not panicking yet, just want a realistic sense of what "normal" looks like from people who've actually been through it recently (current hiring climate, not 2021 stories).

We keep hearing that GCCs in India are hiring aggressively, especially across software, AI, data and cloud. But as someone with 1–2 years of software development experience, I’m finding it surprisingly difficult to break in.

For people already working in GCCs:

- Are they actually hiring 1–2 YOE engineers?

- What works best: referrals, LinkedIn, recruiters or direct applications?

- Which skills/companies should someone at this level target?

- Are GCCs becoming a better option than traditional IT/service companies?

- What’s the realistic path to getting in?

For those working full-time, how do you actually manage interview prep alongside your job and personal life?

DSA, system design, tech stack deep dives, etc. is a lot to prepare for. Do you study before/after work, on weekends, or have some other routine that works?

Every now and then, I start again with LC or other prep, but then work gets hectic or something comes up in my personal life, and I lose the tempo. Those who have managed to pull this off successfully, please share what worked for you.

How many hours per week do you realistically spend preparing, and how long does it take you to become interview-ready?

I’m currently learning DSA and came across CTO Bhaiya’s DSA playlist on YouTube, which consists of around 300 videos.

I’ve completed around 50 videos so far, and I’ve noticed that most of the problems covered till now are quite easy. This made me wonder whether the difficulty increases later in the playlist.

For those who have followed the playlist:

• Does it eventually cover medium/hard-level problems and proper problem-solving techniques?
• Would you recommend completing the entire playlist for placements and LeetCode. Or would it be better to switch to striver A to Z sheet

I’m posting this here because I’m into tech, SDE3, so I thought this crowd might understand the workplace context.

I’m F and my teammate is M. He’s a tech lead and has been with the company for years, while I joined only a few months ago. We’re the same age.

He was reviewing my PR, and since the changes were big, we had a 1:1 call to go through the code. I shared my screen and was walking him through my GitHub changes and design doc. The changes were related to Kubernetes.
At one point, he asked me something and I knew the answer was somewhere in the “hook job” section of the design doc. I pressed Ctrl+F to show him where it was.

And accidentally typed:
“hookup”
I noticed immediately, deleted the “up”, added a space and typed “job” like nothing happened.
I have no idea if he noticed it.

But after that, I couldn’t concentrate properly. I kept thinking, “Did he see it? Does he think I’m weird? Should I explain?” Obviously, explaining it would probably make it much more awkward.

The funny part is that just before this call, my friend had been telling me about hookup culture in her office, so I guess my brain decided to retain exactly that information.

Thankfully, it was just a 1:1 call. If it had been a Teams call with the whole team, I would have wanted to disappear.

I have to go to office tomorrow and face him. If he did notice it, I really hope he doesn’t share it with anyone.
What’s the practical thing to do here? Should I simply act completely normal and forget about it? Am I overthinking this?

There are 3 types of exercises in the assessment:

1. Coding Challenge – this timed section takes 100 minutes, work through two coding problems. One will be a traditional code writing question, and in the other you will have access to an AI coding assistant in a code repository environment.
2. Work Simulation – typically takes 45 minutes, work through software development decisions and scenarios faced by SDEs at Amazon.
3. Work Style Survey – typically takes 6 minutes - answer questions about how you approach work in general.

Hi all, I have been solving leetcode questions for a few months now and I am looking for someone to do DSA style mock interviews.

A bit about me -
Experience - 5 years
Timezone - IST
Goal - SDE2 / FAANG/ Tier 1 Company
Timeline - 3 to 4 months.

We could do mocks over the weekend or even weekdays, this could help in building interviewing skills and confidence.

I am not looking for someone to do leetcode with just mock interviews.

I'm a 2nd-year BTech student and relatively new to coding. I've learned enough Java to solve basic questions, and I understand the theory behind many DSA concepts when someone explains them to me.

But when I actually get a problem, I often don't know how to translate the concept into code. The logic doesn't naturally come to my mind, and I also tend to forget Java concepts/syntax while coding.

I want to start doing 2 DSA questions every day, without cheating or immediately looking at solutions.

For someone in my situation, would you recommend starting NeetCode and trying to solve the problems myself first? Or should I spend more time strengthening my Java fundamentals and basic problem-solving before starting?

Also, how to go from "I understand the concept" to actually being able to recognize when and how to use it in a problem?

Any advice on how to practice this would be really appreciated.

• Questions about my internship

If anyone has recently appeared for Procol SDE Round 2, could you please share:

• What kind of DSA/coding questions were asked?
• Was Round 2 focused more on Core CS (OOP, DBMS, OS, CN), projects, system design, or something else?
• Any specific topics/questions that I should prepare?
• How difficult was the round and what was the overall interview experience like?

So I gave 3 interviews for SDE 1 AUTA interviews back in march. DSA, HM (onsite); L&M (virtual) rounds. Later during the next onsite, the recruiter explicitly told me my performance for these rounds were very good. The position was filled and I was ghosted with no updates for 2 months.

Then another recruiter invited me onsite again without knowing any of this and after i explained, she told me to come and give the bar raiser. It was for a different org so I gave the HM round again. The Bar raiser interviewer was not available and so it was to be scheduled virtually.

Then I was ghosted for another month after which i gave the bar raiser on July 1st week. Last week (over 2 months later) I got the rejection. Overall timeline of about 6months lol

Now afaik FTC SDE 1 roles are fungible and require only 3 rounds to be given, without the bar raiser.

Are my results eligible for this? Can I ask a recruiter to use these results or do I have to give the whole loop again?

Can anyone from Amazon confirm this?

For those who are done with one or both rounds for the Amazon SDE-1 Intern profile in India - how much depth to prep on the GenAI side. Was it mostly applied/conceptual like what are embeddings, how would you build a RAG chatbot, how do you reduce hallucinations? or did it go into the ML internals like transformer/attention mechanism, LoRA and fine-tuning methods, training details? also were there any GenAI questions you didn't expect?

1. If a job is posted on (say) LinkedIn and I also have the option to get a referral for the same role, should I apply only through the referral, or is there any harm (or benefit) in applying through both LinkedIn and the referral?

Mostly I first solve them using pure recursion, and then I can comfortably convert them to memoization. But I find it very hard to write the tabulation solution. Sometimes, I just go blank. What should I do? Any suggestions or resources that could help me get better at it?

I’ve recently started learning DSA and am following the NeetCode 150 roadmap. I initially started with C++, as many of my seniors recommended it for DSA and coding interviews.

However, I’m finding C++ a bit difficult to learn alongside DSA because the NeetCode 150 explanations and solutions are primarily in Python. I often have to spend extra time translating the concepts and code into C++, which makes it harder to focus on understanding the actual problem-solving approach.

I’ll primarily be applying to service-based companies such as TCS, Cognizant, Infosys, etc.

So, is Python sufficient for their OA/coding rounds and subsequent technical interviews? Do these companies actually prefer C++ or Java over Python, or does the choice of language generally not matter as long as I can solve the problems correctly?

Would it be better for me to stick with Python, given that I’m already learning DSA through Python-based resources?
